The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hi I am looking for NIB Quarter Horses, Australian Ponys, and Standardbreds. I prefer them to be older with full or most training. I dont really care about BLUP, just training and NIB. If anybody has any they dont want let me know. Thanks.

please pm me with horses you have for sale....thanks.

I forget who it was...but someone here mentioned using spreadsheets to keep their NIBs organized. I don't suppose that someone could maybe take a screen shot or a link to a sample of your spread sheet?

I am thinking I would like to try something similar but it sure would be helpful to see how someone else has it organized.
The excel person was me I believe and I do have screenshots up on photobucket, I'll send you a link Alassíeℓ.

Awesome!
Thank you Rymskynx! I'd love to get my horses organized before I really start seriously training & breeding them.
I have certainly found being organized to be extremely helpful. Everyone's strategy for oranizing is deferent, but finding something that works for you is extremely helpful. default smiley (y)

Rymskynx,
.
Which genealogy program do you use? There are so many out there and many definitely wouldn't work for horses, or are too expensive, or too complicated, etc. etc. Would really like to know what you are using.

Everyone,
.
Tip on comps. I have always found that I have a better chance of winning when the horse has a Tub of Grease which is found in the box and lasts for 4 calendar days. It can be hard to find, sometimes have better luck than others. But another player, sorry can't remember name, told me a little trick that does seem to increase the odds of finding one. One day give the horse an apple and DO NOT put it in its box at all that day. The next day put in the box for several hours and you often have a Tub of Grease. Had a horse that I just couldn't find a Tub for no matter what I tried. I tried the apple trick and the next day had a Tub in the box. But they do add bonuses to help you win. When I have a Tub I cram in as many comps as I can each day I have the Tub, watching horse's energy and health carefully so I don't overwork him/her. Does seem to make a difference.

I have a first gen hano mare that I bought, and for some reason, she is just pulling off all the wins! It's great, but at the same time, none of my others are really pulling it off LOL. i guess it's a little give and take. Just my little update.

Rymskynx, I would love to see how you have your spreadsheets organized, I'm still having a hard time with all this :P

I'm looking for connemara stallion to get my mare pregnant. Mare is 100 blup and bolded with all but trot. Since the mare is foundation it would be nice to find foundie stallion too default smiley :) PM your offer so we can get to the business. I put this here cos I'm just lazy and didn't write to all connie nibbers default smiley :-))

A horse is a horse !! i dontget all this xoths and nibbs
Xanthos is a mythical horse in real life and you can read up on him. On the game they are divine horse that can give you gift if you stroke them. NIB(non inbreed) in the game it is just what its described at the top. If you want to know more about Ouranos & Gaia and what inbreeding in real life you can read up on that too.

I started some comps that are NIB related... I don't know if that helps, but I guess we will have to see. If you are interested in when they are running and what breeds, PM me and I will send you the details. I know this is a problem because I have a RDH that I have been trying to get past 6 wins for about 5 years (Howrse years). Maybe if we can band together with these comps we can get our horses BLUPPED?
I breed NIB pure Brumbies default smiley :)

I also use excel speadsheets to keep organized. I have a one for horses in training so I can keep track of who needs what. When training is done & all skills are bolded + 100 BLUP, the get moved to my Breeding Sheet to be matched up with a mate. Once they are bred, they are marked so I know not to use them again (I also move them to a new breeding farm on howrse so I don't have to hunt through them to find the ones I'm still working on).

I have separate tabs for each breed I'm working with, but since I concentrate on Arabs, they have the more complicated spreadsheet. And I have different sections for each generation. Since I don't breed any horse more than once (for my own use) I don't need to keep track of individual pedigree, it makes record keeping easier, in my opinion.

I"m not sure how to get screenshots up on howrse & I don't use Photobucket, so I don't think I'll be able to show you how my sheets work, but I'd be more than happy to go into more details if anyone wants me to.

Blinkyli ..check out the following breeders for connie stallion coverings..kaliko99, HYDEIST, and myself. I believe kaliko has a rather huge selection of 100 BLUP foundie stallions to choose from. PM any one of us we are all pretty willing to help folks. ( I did not name others as to be honest I do not know how they handle their coverings). I know kaliko, myself and HYDEIST have always been pretty willing for connie covers. I have a smaller selection of foundies than Kaliko has as I sold her the majority of my fully blupped foundations from my horsecreek NIB lines. Seriously hehe she has a lot default smiley :).

As far as keeping track of my horses I recently implemented my own little breeder book as I call it. My husband gets logistics books for me and the columns are set up perfectly for keeping track of who is and isn;t blupped and stuff.
