It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

So I just finished training this gal. She's my first 1st gen. that I've finished training. I'll probably finish another one today, too.

Why is it so hard to resist the sales?! Just added another Foundie that I really didn't need to the collection. Oh well, at least it is a female, and I am low on them!

Looking good eriathwen! I love the Hackney images, so regal.

Thank you eriathwen!

I should have my first 4th gen in the next 2 weeks. I'm working on 4 1st gens to eventually get a foal to breed with my 593.04 3rd gen I got a couple days ago. What is everyone else working on?

3 QHs and an Irish Hunter.

Btw, I can fill any time. I am down to only 10 pass horses, so I'm wanting to work my fillers to the bone. default smiley xd

Don't have any active Foundies to get comp wins on yet, but I do have 1 troublesome IB mare I need help with. So, pounce on me any time and just hope i'm not busy with yoga or something. I'm always free. default smiley :d

As far as my NIBs go, I just got a foal from Leo and Felony (whou hoo!) So I'm just trying to finish up Larcen and MisD to get a foal out of them. All I have left for Larcen is bolding and aging. MisD, however, I switched to English to fulfill a requirement for a promo and now she's having the worst time getting her wins and she's not bolded. Ugh.

My mustangs are slowly plodding along though. I'm kinda holding off on them until I have the seniority for a breeding farm. I'm already getting confused on what horses I can just compete and put to bed on my phone and those that I need to get on the computer and milk their energy for all it's worth. default smiley :p
The Holsties are being stubborn, haha! Breeding wise, waiting one of my 1st gens to foal and waiting for my 3rd gen to throw a proper foal default smiley (li) BLUPing, working the young 1st gens and foundies. I need to get some more 1st gens on the ground!

The unicorns, as usual, have been tucked aside again. Don't know why, just get so bored with them. And they have such pretty coats too, it really does amaze me.

There are a bunch of new old foundations in the sales ranging from about 40k to 75k in the sales. I saw quite a few curlies and haflingers.

Dunno about anyone else, but I'm liking the fountain glitch, getting so much done with my hackneys with the extra energy.

default smiley (lol) when I first saw I I was ... O_O
But totally enjoying it as well.

Game wise I've had to slow down to a crawl - rehab is no walk in the park that's for sure.
Miss working my NIB's *sulks*

Asfridur,

Thank you! What's funny is that, I was slightly disappointed when I saw she was a uni because they usually have lower GP's. I literally squealed when I saw it default smiley xd

I feel you on the rehab. It was your back wasn't it? I had fusion back in May but I'm doing pretty well and going back to college in a couple weeks. Finally. You'll get back in the game soon default smiley :)

@Axel'sMommy I was in total awe of that little thing default smiley ^)

I've grabbed several more foundie Shagya. Could not resist them. And there are still more in sales.... oh lord I want them all.

Yes it was slipped disc surgery. MT scan only showed 1, when they started surgery they found a second one. So I got a 2 for 1 deal I guess default smiley (lol)
So thus rehab will take longer than they expected. Really running out of patience, and they cannot say just when I'll be back to my normal active self..
They have told me I am allowed to start working max 9 hours per week, come September. And heaven be blessed I am now also allowed to drive my car, provided I only do short trips.

Was going to ask you how everything went. I'm really happy for you that it went fine.
So you are still doing rehab?

Gotta love finding players will to feed the addiction! default smiley xd They are few and far between lately.

Thanks Asfridur! Driftwood Shores is a fourth gen. I will be quiet a while, at least with GP. I have to get a few more second and third gens on the ground!

But why am I always out of ageing pointsdefault smiley xd

I decided to do a collection/NIB project of those new rolling gain Kaktos/foundie unicorns. All breeds. It's exciting, thought I'd sharedefault smiley (lol) I wish I could do it with the old foundies, but they are so expensive and hard to work with.

I'm glad I see a lot of long-time NIBers still around on here!

Will the newly released foundies of 3175 GP still be considered NIB and postable if we start at this GP level instead of at 350 or the other higher GP? Considering starting to NIB QH.

I'm also new to actually NIB despite being on Howrse for an extended time period. Is it possible to start a NIB farm from 4 foundies, bred 2 and 2 and then their children? Or since the second generation will require covering siblings' kids together, they will have the same foundie grandparents, it's not NIB once it gets there? We are required to find outside breeders or new foundie parents to continue stock? Appreciate any responses!

Indeed, you can! There's a tiny spot for the rolling gain GP up in the intro thing, under the old GP list.

From what I understand, offspring should never have a horse in its pedigree more than once.

yep that is correct ✧ milk-blossom ✧
You can only use the same horse once. If the horse has the same ancestor appearing more than once, when you check the pedigree, it's not a NIB horse. It is then considered inbred.

Is it worth making newer Foundie horses (GP is over 350 but parents are Ouranos and Gaia) immortal? Do people value those foundies more if immortal the same as original 350 GP ones?
