The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hello! I'm getting started in with the NIB game again (I worked very hard on a previous account) so if anybody has any quarter horses, Morgans or Icelandic please keep me in mind! I'm willing to purchase any NIB horse for the right price. I have a NIB forum going in my EC Forum if you would like to leave your username there as well.
@Taylor Lynn Benson Your EC forum is only available for people who have horses boarded at your EC default smiley :)
But I would love to see the forum

Which generation would you consider a foal if the mom was a 3rd gen and the dad was a 1st gen? a 4th or 2nd gen?

Just a little fantasy question :P

And to keep this NIB, all horses are NIB default smiley ;)

Hi all, so I have a question regarding the NIB guidelines. As I said in a previous post, I am returning to the game and returning to NIB breeding after I had a very successful NIB breeding program on an inactive account. Anyways my previous account was before the new ouaranos(sp?) And Gaia foals were being created with 3000+ GP. At this time I have NIB horses with both the old 350 GP and the new skillers with the higher GP and green stars. I just noticed though that the initial post in this forum doesn't seem to include the newer foundie horses with the higher GPs....but I would think that they are still technically NIB horses because they go back to the foundation sire and dam with no replications in the family tree.

I just want to make sure that I am labeling my NIB horses appropriately! Feel free to look at my horses and send me a message on if you think any of my NIB horses are mislabeled...Thanks!
@Taylor Lynn Benson welcome back.

We have two "rankings" going now. One with the rolling gain (RG) foundies (the new releases that have over 1800 in GP).
So you you can definitely start a new NIB project with the RG's. Every horse that has Ouranos and Gaia as parents is considered a foundie.
And should you decide to mix RG's with the old 350 / 351.2 GP foundation that is fine as well. All up to you. Like always a NIB is a NIB as long as all ancestry can be traced, and the same horse only appears once.

Hey all,
I just wanted to introduce myself since I'm considering joining the RG NIB ranks with the two TBs I got when I created this new account.
I have a heart for Mustangs so I bought some cheap ones, and they'll always be purebreds (I have such a disdain for crossbreeds, for some reason), but I'm going to focus on getting my TB line going first.
I think the reason I left howrse the first time around (in addition to all of the changes they were making), was because I didn't have enough of a challenge. From reading through this thread, it definitely seems like this will be a challenge, haha. default smiley :o
Welcome AgentJustice!

Good luck with your TB's. NIB can be a challenge, mostly with getting wins and find foundies default smiley :)

Thanks JoergenG!

Yeah, I'm definitely realizing that.. I've been working on buying a second pair of foundies so I can be training them both up at once. Unfortunately, there's a certain player that keeps out-buying me and the one other player that also seems to be hunting for TB foundies just to flip them for way more than I can afford. (Literally, went back to auctions today to look for more and saw every single horse that I had bid on being resold by this same player. And now there are no other foundies left.) It's pretty frustrating/annoying. default smiley (n)
That is indeed frustrating. But NIB horses are very attractive to a lot of players, so it's understandable. Also considering only one horse can be sold out of the two new players get, that makes them double as rare (RG)

I buy them for 35-80k, I know it's not answering selling but I just don't sell them, but hopefully that gives you a bit of an idea

I'll admit that it's been somewhat satisfying to watch the flipped horses go through the auctions without being bought. Even if that means that these foundies are now just joining the ranks of horses simply sitting on their account. So far I've only seen one of her flipped foundies with a bid.
Thanks Lavender! Unfortunately even my starter pair are nowhere near ready to breed (both are running between -35 and -50 BLUP atm). And although I am considering going the cover route, I'd need a second mare first! Sigh. I've been doing a ridiculous amount of advertisement things and have enough to outbid this player by at least a bit so hopefully I'll win the mare I'm bidding on.
It also seems like they've moved on to other breeds. I haven't seen them in the TB auctions today but I saw them elsewhere, so maybe I'll get lucky.
I'll shoot you a friend request though and keep you in mind when I'm ready to breed!
I've spent up to 250k on foundations. They can be very pricey. Lowest they typically go for is around 30-35k. I breed Hanoverians and I get super excited when I find them under 70k lol.

Ouch. Fortunately (and hopefully I'm not about to jinx myself), they've moved on to another breed today and I'm down to just a few hours left with a winning bid so far.
Fingers crossed.
By Retired breeder, 12th July 2017 19:39:46
Wow. Talk about jinxing myself. As soon as I left the page, they came back and made a bid. Ha.
Oh my, Holstie filly in the auctions! I NEVER see them there! Bid WWWAAAAYYY too much, but hey, I will hopefully get a filly out of it default smiley :p Not that I need more...default smiley (m)

Ah, that really sucks. Perhaps you could try and ask people to privately buy a foundie from them?

Ah ha! Outbid the player and brought home a 2973 GP foundie - only a year and a half. Now I'm done buying things for a while haha. I'm down to 8,000. But I usually make 10-20k in the advertisements and I've got a meadow with wheat about 5 days away and no plans to actually buy things for my EC any time soon so hopefully i'll rebound fast haha.

In the meantime, no more foundies for me.
*cough, cough* 100 acres worth of the best cows=roughly 750k a month...tis what I dodefault smiley :d

Looks like I'll finish 2 Lipp mares this week. So I'll be starting a Hunter and a Shire I think...I need to do some blupping. I keep procrastinating on that, but I am more than happy to blup for others if need be. Well, get wins.

*runs around howrse* Sugar....it makes a happy keepy.

Really keepsake? Wow. That might have to be my long term goal. I put wheat in my medium greenhouse (not meadow, oops) for some quick cash so I could buy a second of the biggest meadow once winter is over. Right now I'm definitely on the fast (even if slightly less) money track. But cows. Gonna have to remember that.
Thanks Benedict! He was even a dapple grey, so I was pleased. With the exception of my Wikaila, all of my other horses are a shade of brown default smiley :p default smiley :-))
If anyone's working Standardbreds or Lippizans, there are a few cheap foundies in the direct sales right now. I just snagged a couple geldings for Wanderer coats, but there are stallions/mares left.

Haven't been able to update the list for a couple weeks - came back from vacation to a wonky computer, so I've mostly been playing from my phone, which I am not terribly good at (it's mostly been work the Divines, check the EC, and done - my BLUPing foundies have been getting a break). Things are straightened out now, I hope, so I should get them checked this weekend.
