This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

same here.. I had 12 coats pulled value of over 200000 and 20+ passes.. a single golden aplle is not true compensation. I realize that collecting wasn't a beginning aspect of the game but it is still a aspect.. not happy at all. if I can figure out which ones were pulled I will post them this evening. grrr.. I also had the rare one thatwas the black and white rearing.

Ouch! Poor you wildfire! That is truly not fair. So many players pay money and passes (which they paid for with real money) to buy these coats, and it if completely unfair for the coats to be pulled without notice. I believe that not just a Golden Apple should be paid, but something more. (No idea what though)

My horse Dyadyme lost her coat just today! It was a yellow-and-orage-and-pink (and other colors in that range) GA peggy.

I think part of the problem is that knowingly keeping copyright violations in play, even if they are no longer available to purchase, is going to be a problem, especially when it involves companies like Breyer who are very fierce in protecting their product. I am obviously not in the know but in theory, the copyright holders could send Howrse a cease and desist or take other legal action to have the coats removed entirely.

I understand it is not a great feeling as a coat collector to have coats you have painstakingly gathered taken away without notice, but it's not really something Howrse can always control. Honestly, if I collected coats, I'd be very wary of collecting coats that are known or suspected copyright violations, as they could disappear off the game at any moment, as opposed to player-retired coats or coats from people who delete their games or have their games deleted which are likely to stick around.

Although the fact that some pulled coats are still available for purchase at the BM is weird-- I'm going to guess it's an overisight that will be corrected.

I had a coat pulled too, but I can't remember what coat it had! default smiley (lol) The coat number was 862. Any one know what that one looked like? And any idea why the suddenly pulled so many?

Thanks psdraftlady. I found the coat. I really liked that one! I'm just glad that I didn't buy some of the others I was planning on, because there were a few coats in that topic of yours that I was going to buy but didn't for one reason or another.

Hello,

I don't know if this is where I should ask this but I am wondering why are some coats Retired and others are pulled from the game so you can no longer use that coat? I am curious to know because 3 different coats that I had on My Horses were just pulled from the game. Why weren't they just retired? Why were they pulled? What makes some be retired and some be pulled? Please will someone let me know? Thanks a Bunch.

Players who created the coats can retire tham if they wish. Coats are pulled from the game because of copyright issues, but some of the recent issues for coats being pulled are not known. Even the creators don't know why their coats were pulled.

No. Every 5 times the coat is used, the maker gets a pass. After 1500 uses, the player doesn't get any more passes.

and explanation on why it was removed would be nice, I mean, it doesn't have anything copyrighted on it , does it? default smiley (o)
