I'm hoping he will turn out well as a stud for my TB cross for a more versatile thoroughbred venture. It's no longer just an idea - thanks to my stumbling across this thread - 'cause I've started buying horses. Too late to back out now! Haha.

I also picked up an awesome (IMHO) pure TB mare with 20 stars and 715 current skills. She's BLUPed but only bolded in her top three, and has two training bars not even started. So if I breed her right she should have some good foals, knock on wood!

I also have a little TB/arab cross filly I picked up way back when I first started thinking seriously about this, and a pure TB colt with 13 stars.

Plus, I might not need to get many Hanos, since I'm going to take the advice I've recieved here and at least use them as a starting point for crossing. I have a few that have been sitting around, not getting worked on, because I didn't really have a reason to do so, but I wasn't ready to let go of them. Now I'm glad I didn't. They're not spectacular, but they'll be good for crossing, I think.

I guess I'll get to my question, then. And I know I've asked pretty much the same thing before, but it's 5 AM and I'm having trouble getting it through my thick head. If I were to breed a pure TB mare to a crossbred something else, I would get a TB, correct?

Depends on how much Tb the cross has if it's 50% then yep you would get a Tb

Hmm... So I wouldn't get a TB breeding a pure mare to a 50% Hano, 25% IH, 25% TB?

You would get the following genetics in the foal
62.5% TB
25% Hano
12.5% IH
Yes, I believe that is how it would work. So TB dominant by a long shot. Be sure to tell us how the foal turns out!

Oops! I forgot to put one on her. I have one for her I just haven't noticed she didn't have it yet.

I'm thinking of doing Marwari crosses...should I? I don't know what skill to focus on yet or what to cross it with but for sure I'm doing Marwaris. I love their coats
