Howrse turns 20!

HellOw everyone,

It's already been 20 years of Howrse!

20 years of breeding, competing, collecting, sharing, customizing, grinding...

A game is nothing without its players! Thank you for making Howrse what it has been for the last 20 years: a community game where you never play alone.

Let us know what your best memories of Howrse are.default smiley (ow)

Happy Twentieth Anniversary!

Lol did you all see the message we just got about OCTOBER?

But nothing about the 20th anniversary “celebrations”… realistically there’s no hope anymore. Hiram, I do applaud you though for not backing down. Someone has to keep pushing them for answers - the devs need to see that we care about this game and the money we have funnelled into it/their pockets. We feel ripped off and neglected.

Messages are automated more often than not, with time and day they must happen, so don't think it's necessarily an admin sending the message, especially if it's something recurring such as Inktober default smiley :)

THAT SAID, this thread is becoming a bit silent on their end.

I do get feeling angry about this situation, I'm angry too, but it's been long enough by now that they are very, very unlikely to address this in any way. I don't think messaging Support or posting on this thread will help anymore. They're just going to push offers for every letter of the alphabet and then be done with it. I don't think any amount of player protest interests them.
I'm going to keep my ticket open til we get an answer. I promise the faithful players of this game i will NOT back down til we have answers. I'm not hounding them. i think that will make it worse. I started one ticket Monday, 2 weeks after the anniversary so plenty of time to have done something, and they answered tues i responded cause it wasn't an answer they responded wed again not answering the question so responded again on wed, now NOTHING. i sent another note this morning. I will send something again Sunday night so they see it monday morning. we'll see what happens. All these responses are on the original ticket.

at this point i don't even care if they do more. it's more about getting them to stop ignoring us and be honest. and acknowledge our disappointment and admit nothing more is happening. instead of completely and utterly ignoring us.

On September 17th I sent a message on discord taging AmOwzing with the following: when is the 20th anniversary stuff gonna happen? We haven't heard or seen anything more about the avatar or anything else...

This is what I got as a response: Sorry, no spoilers. But the avatar frame will come!

I tagged them again today asking about everything

what we should do with this October celebration. 1000000% IGNORE it. they are silent on the 20th anniversary. we should all be silent do NOTHING for this stupid October Thing. except making banners in protest of the lack of info on the 20th anniversary. there's no prizes for the October thing so it's no taking anything away from us.

I'm not letting them get away with no response. my last response went out on Fri. I know nothing was going to happen over the weekend so waiting til like midnight my time (EST) tonight which is right before I go to bed so my next note is one of the newest ones they get.

I personally can't wait til they post the forum for the new October thing. I'm going to plaster it with calls to boycott it. it's a total slap in the face. there's no prizes for it so doing nothing for it won't be any loss to us. unless by some miracle they do something. doubt that's going to happen

I don't think boycotting the Inktober event is going to do anything, personally. It doesn't give them money, it's just an optional art event and I don't even think it's hosted on the main site, although I could be remembering wrong. Avoiding buying packs and passes would make more of an impact.

I think it would make a statement.

I just re-checked the thing - it's hosted on Instagram, so I don't think they're going to be posting a thread for it here. It's all on their social medias elsewhere.

Not that I think they'd care whether anyone participates or not, and certainly they wouldn't connect low Inktober participation with the event from a month ago. More likely they'd just assume everyone's busy. If you want their attention you'd need to do what you'd been doing and go to Contact Us, but I don't think there's much for it at this point. They'll respond when they're good and ready, and not before.

I just remember the trophy thing from a few years back - site participation has never been what it was since then, tons of people left, complained for months, stopped buying passes, the works. None of it did any good except that they eventually updated it to have actual numbers and not percentages. They didn't even keep their promise of the Divines they said they'd offer, nor did they ever do what they said they'd do and rework the display page to show what trophies a player had actually completed, or fix the collections display. None of it.

I'm just saying, I don't think anything will come of this. This is NOT the first time they've broken promises and been dishonest and ghosted the playerbase. It's par for the course at this point. They really do not care at all, and they haven't for years. I do think they'll give us the avatar banner eventually, but they'll take their sweet time with it and won't say a thing else.

I still bring up the trophies in the Dev's corner thread whenever there's an update.

Here's this morning's response. I at least feel like it is a real response. which is a positive. not sure what to do now. the ticket has been closed by the game.

Hello Hiram Farmer,

Thank you for your messages. We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry; we are currently experiencing a high volume of requests.

Please know that all events, offers, and celebrations are decided within the Game Team and is not decided by the Support team. We as the Support team, can only take your feedback, criticisms, and suggestions and share them with the Game team.

We have already shared your messages about the 20th anniversary celebrations with the team. We are sorry, but this is all that we can do. If the team wishes to make an announcement or release something more for the 20th anniversary celebrations, plase rest assured that they will.

We will now be closing this ticket as the issue has been sent to the appropriate team and no further response or a different outcome will follow.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,
The Howrse Team

I'm curious why this new divine requires completing both objectives whereas the first one only required completing one. That means if you don't have hestias and you swap and get "give birth to a unicorn" you have a 4 in 5 chance of not being able to complete it.

AmOwzing sent this this morning responding to another person who asked:
I'm asking the team now if there's anything else we can share regarding the anniversary and all the concerns everyone has been sharing.

Howrse sent this as a response: 2025 is an anniversary year for Howrse and don’t worry, other surprises are coming! Special horses, events, avatar frames, giveaways and celebrations on our social networks are on the way: stay tuned!

When they were asked if they were gonna do anything in game and not just giveaways not everyone can enter they responded with "wait and see" and now have stopped responding again

I'm calling baloney on anniversary "year" if that had been there intention the celebration would have started long before 9/8.

with my ticket. I really appreciate finally getting a human response not an auto response. I didn't know the people answering the tickets couldn't help us with our issues all they can do is pass it on to others. my plan is to reopen the ticket and thank them for the HUMAN response. and every Monday reopen it and send a reminder until there is more and make sure they know we haven't forgotten. Contact Us can't seem to help on this but I think a gentle polite reminder wouldn't hurt so they can remind the people who are supposed to do something to do something.

my response in reopening my ticket:

I am reopening to thank you for finally giving a true human answer. not an automatic response. you have no idea how much I appreciate that. That's all we are looking for an actual person to respond. It's been really frustrating to feel like we are being completely ignored. I didn't realize you couldn't help. thanks for sharing these issues with the game team. Please keep reminding them we are waiting for more. and it might be helpful for someone official to come into the 20th anniversary event topic and say something about what is going on. Again that's all we are looking for.

I felt it a good idea to acknowledge the human response. I hate the auto responses. the response I got this morning was definitely not an auto response. and I really appreciate that. I will reopen the ticket and send a new note on Mondays. Not expecting a response just a friendly reminder that we are waiting so they can remind the people who should be doing something.
