Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Next, I'll try a Morgan in hopes that the GP will have risen, since I last checked.

Big thanks to HB for the cover for Sooner Or Later!
Have started experimenting with Warlanders (PSH x Friesian, and Friesian x PSH crosses), and must say I'm quite pleased and excited about it.

Ka Mate Haka = gelding dressage beast default smiley ;) 7005.05 GP (9157.65 Skills)

The Friesian influence boosts the trot and the PSH influence boosts the gallop. Both are great at dressage.

*long whistle* sweet!
I haven't been breeding horses for high skills lately, so the last time I paid attention to IBS it was around 2000.

So I bought a Selle mare and have no idea what to cross her with. Anyone have any ideas?
By Retired breeder, 27th October 2016 00:23:31

Haha. Don't think I will get rid of her anytime soon, but you will be the first to know if I do.
Thank you Union for the cover!!

Psylla
I know her IBS are SUPER low but it's because her dam had -34 BLUP when I covered... Oh well, her GP is still fantastic to me!

Finished up one of my many Irish hunters babies that has been sitting and just waiting for some love, I wish I could make him a little more prepared for comps, but the exchange rates are crazy/nonexistant, so he'll just have to remain naked and cheap tacked for nowdefault smiley :s

Also question, is there anyone to cross a 50/50 horse with a purebred, and then breed the foal in a certain way that would make the foal's foal be 50/50 again or no?

Ok so if I'm understanding you correctly (using GVs and KWPN for example) you have a 50/50 GV/KWPN, you breed it to a pure GV, the foal is 75/25 GV/KWPN, and you want to know what to breed it back to to get a 50/50?
That'd be another 75/25, but the opposite (KWPN/GV in this case) default smiley :)

You could have a 50/50 odf the same breed breed together

Is there a breed that is strong in stamina gallop and trot? And a breed that is strong in speed gallop and trot? I want to breed them with gv and KWPNs so that they can be strong all-round
