Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Yay! I think he might just work! Especially because he's a Lusi! I'll PM you once I'm done blupping! Thanks!

I am super excited!! I got my first rosette and with a horse I bred at that!! Femme's Marie

can't wait to see how her foals will do!!
Does anyone have a gallop or jump cross with less than 27% of the dominant breed? I want to keep going with this Hackney and finish turning the breed abilities upside down. I get terrific comp horses from crosses with skill sets far from the original breed.

Hey all,

I just want to share a bit of excitement with you. One of my Morabs I've been working (he's not even done yet) has taken 4th in Stamina for the Morgan breed!
I've been breeding Mustang crosses for years on this game, here is my current pride & joy:

Cherry Blossom's MA finally wore off. She has 822 1st place wins in all. She also has 247 2nd place wins. Very happy with her! I will continue to use her to breed and for Great Challenge 'win x amount of competitions' objectives. default smiley :-))
Recently bred a few horses with a higher GP, inc Stormkissed a Lusitano x KWPN x Appaloosa with 6612GP, highest i've bred to date. I have also bred a Criollo x KWPN x Appaloosa stallion with 8572 skills.

But one I am pretty happy with is The Creative, another Arab x KWPN cross who, after the update, I believe will have #1 Arabian Dressage and Jumping and #4 Arabian Speed.

Starting to build up my stallions again!default smiley (y)

Hey guys! I have a KWPN x Thoroughbred Stallion who I am currently blupping but I was wondering what breed of mare I should breed him with once he is blupped. My main focus is jumping horses. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The stallion is "Smoked Ivory" in my Crossbreeds tab. He's a RC default smiley ^)

Skills with jumping skills are:
Morgan: Dressage, jumping, speed, stamina, trot, gallop
KWPN: dressage, jumping, speed, gallop, trot, stamina
Shetland: Jumping, speed, dressage, stamina, gallop, trot
Selle Français: jumping, speed, dressage, stamina, gallop, trot
Australian Pony: jumping, speed, dressage, gallop, stamina, trot

Hope that gives you some ideas default smiley ;)

With it's skill set I'd say it's a good western all-around horse. Barrels will get you your skill gains, it's dressage is high enough it could do good in cutting, and it'll get wins in reining and WP because of it's lower gallop and trot. For future breeding ideas, I'd say a Marwari with it would make a great barrel horse (and up that gallop some) or otherwise a Criollo would get you a good cutting horse default smiley :d

Got this foal from September. Any idea on what I could do with him in comps? Future breeding ideas?
I'm getting excited now - very close to my goal!

Gonna show off two horses:

And his foal with one of my mares!

So.. Arab mare which i didn't really like to begin with but turned out to be an insane comp machine is currently on 109 wins at just under 10 years old.. which is pretty sweet. 103 of them being XC

Does anyone have a stallion over 6590GP that doesn't have KWPN or Lusitano (or has a small amount) in it's bloodlines? I know it's a long shot... but i'm really struggling to find something to cross with my mare Stormkissed and I wanna make it good

So i bred her with a TB cross stallion resulting in a KWPN Filly, whose breeds include KWPN, Appaloosa, Lusitano, TB and Criollo. Quite looking forward to BLUPing

For comps showjumping for gains but you could get wins easier with cross country or trot.

As for breeding, if you want to keep going the jumping route any of these breeds:
Morgan: Dressage, jumping, speed, stamina, trot, gallop
KWPN: dressage, jumping, speed, gallop, trot, stamina
Shetland: Jumping, speed, dressage, stamina, gallop, trot
Selle Français: jumping, speed, dressage, stamina, gallop, trot
Australian Pony: jumping, speed, dressage, gallop, stamina, trot

Or you could get a good all-around classical horse...I've had luck with these breeds and a jumper like yours:
Quarter Horse: Gallop, dressage, speed, jumping, stamina, trot
Welsh: Gallop, dressage, speed, jumping, stamina, trot
Appaloosa: Speed, gallop, dressage, jumping, stamina, trot

I'm just starting to mess with the beach rides, but I know NOTHING about them. Any suggestions for this mare? I tend to breed for high speed/jump, so I was thinking maybe low for stamina and give to jump? Thoughts? Guide sites to check out?
Thanks in advance default smiley :)

Hi guys!
I'm looking for a stud with its specialty being show jumping with little (24% or less) to no KWPN blood. Also the main breed has to be less than 50%. I've lucked out completely in public coverings, everything decent has KWPN in it. default smiley (d)
