Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

What would be a good breed to cross with KWPNs to do well in either trot or something western?
By Retired breeder, 27th February 2016 17:35:53
What could I cross with KWPNs to do well in western comps?

Any ideas on what to breed my mare, Flash Fire (curly x KWPN, under Active tab), to?
She needs stamina first, and then trot and gallop.

If I BLUP my cross she may be the highest in gallop for TW's! I'm excited to see if this works out!
Needs a new cross.

What's a good breed to cross with Marwari? I just got a new broodmare that I'm looking to have some fun with.
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 00:14:03
I made another SJ for the promo I bred my mare with a Selle/KWPN cross but I guess the selle became irrelevant so now it's more TB than KWPN.
Ok, now I really have to BLUP all of these darn foals and I'm running out of APs.

I've been avoiding blupping the foals for the promo... ugh. It's so much hassle.
I give up on this promo. I am just gonna work on my art now, it has a small chance of getting in but if it does, all this work will be worth it and 60 passes are mine default smiley :-))

Oh darn... I forgot about that too. To blup or not to blup? That is the question.
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 03:13:42
I can't art to save my life, so bulp for me, I have gotten a few very good foals.
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 03:19:06
Me neither, I just color in random linearts lol.
Yeah, your horse looked great. Honestly, I say just leave her the way she is. For the SJ comps she's great.
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 03:38:03

thanks, now for the endurance, I am thinking another TW/TB, hopefully a team will help, the TW covers have super low GP's
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 03:44:16

That's what I did. This is the result. I asked a cross-breeder friendly TW team but their highest GP males were still foals and I later found that in public coverings the GP is 20 or so more than that team. The trick is to use a high GP mare so the foal's GP isn't /that/ bad.
By Retired breeder, 28th February 2016 03:48:45
ok, I will ask them, this is the mare I will use, should be good.

I'm doing an experiment for breeding dressage TB's finding the right breed stats wise and adjusting by adding more breeds to make the dressage stats higher than the all of them. I like creating even all-rounders and I hope to accomplish that (:
