Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

So far this girl is going well, hoping her future babies start making waves..

I think I may start crossbreeding. I already have a Shetland/Higland pony cross, and I think I'm going to breed my Marwari to a TB or KWPN mare if I can get my hands on one.
Any suggestions for me? And what breeds are best for what?

I have a Marwari x TB cross! Jaime Lannister.

What breeds are you interested in? are you interested in overall skiller's or just increasing one skill ect?.

I'd love if I could figure out a good reining cross, or a xc or jumper cross. I would also like to see my Marwari crossed on an Arabian. I think that may be good, though I'm not very sure what BLUP does or anything. Could you help me out on that? Kinda dumb questions, I know.
For reining cross I would say Lip x TB (correct me if I am wrong anybody). For cross country there are mainly possibilities. Mainly breeding with a high skill gypsy will get you a good xc horse. As for a show jumper KWPN or Selle. You can look in my inkheart's breeding farm for some examples if you like?

Am I ok to message you? I can explain BLUP to you.

Yep, messaging is fine! As long as it agrees with the rules (as you probably know).
And yes please, thank you!

Hey guys, do y'all have any recommendations on what horses would make a good mix for the endurance comp?
By Retired breeder, 23rd February 2016 02:12:12
What should I do with my Shire filly? I was thinking train her for xc or a classical event, then breeding (if possible) to a percheron stallion. Thoughts?

Oops, here's the link to her:

Question, does anyone have a schedule to gain max. skills? I forgot at what age you're supposed to put the BMI's and such. (Y'all can PM it to me if you want. default smiley :p)
I *really* want to go all out with these crosses and some future crosses I have in mind. >default smiley :d
you don't need a schedule. Just make sure to get all the foal games, bold all skills, make sure the health or morale is never under 100% while earning skills. WoY at 2, lesson every aging and PoC pack before 25. I normally put it on at 12 so I can use them all at the same time, then age up to 25 while doing lessons.

I have bred shires in the past and I find they do better at dressage and trail class more then anything else. You can most definitely cross shires and Perches I have also done this lol.

What about Mustang? They both have good speed. You maybe able to increase the appaloosa's speed that way.

KWPN would give you a versatile race or cutting horse, thoroughbred a gallop racer (which appy already is, though...), Vanner would even out almost all skills.
