Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Okay! Here is my little show jumper! Still wish the jumping was a tad higher... what if I did a selle x tb to increase jumping.... I mean it's the same three skills as kwpn but a selle has jumping as its #1 skill... default smiley (8)

I would try a selle/tb if you can get the same gp selle as you have kwpn, otherwise i would settle for the kwpn version, chickennugget
By Retired breeder, 20th February 2016 04:52:38
Yeah, I'm probably going to stick to the kwpn x tb because the highest the gp is in the coverings is 5500ish and selles are *really* expensive and the cheap ones have super low gps
2 questions about her.

~how did the % get like that?
~whar would be good crosses?

Sherwood - probably was a 2 way PSH x QH bred to a purebred PSH.

Was hoping someone more experienced with cross breed turnouts could help me figure out what foal I would get with these two crosses

shetland mix
Thoro mix
I plan on bolting the Shetland so that one will be the sire. I'd like to get a Shetland foal out of this, but I wasn't sure if the Thoro percentage would still be too high since the Shetland has Thoro in him as well.

It would probably be TB-maybe if you crossed the TB to some shet mix and then crossed it to the shet you would get what you're looking for.

for the promo i am thinking of doing a TB(mare) X Sellie(shire) 50/50 cross and a TB/GV (mare)crossed with a horse good in speed / jumping(shire), any ideas if eather cross would work out,and what would i use for the second cross's shire, or if anyone has a cross that would work ?

I don't think you can breed draft horses to riding horses...

Meet Cersei Lannister I wasn't paying close attention so accidentally put her horse shoe studs on gallop, could kick myself for that. However I am so happy with her, cannot believe she actually won a rosette default smiley :)

Nice, I just saw this horse a few minutes ago when I was checking my connie's comp results default smiley :)
I'd like to do something with trakehners too, they were my favourite breed when I was a child.

Made her today!

Viola

Not particularly happy that she ended up a Trake (since from my experience my Trake crosses either excell in comps or completely fail at them XD) but super happy with her skillset! Once fully skilled she'll have over 1000 skills in 5 out of 6 skills, and over 1800 in her top one.

Now... What to do with her? Classical or Western, any ideas?

No, I used to play piano though! I took the name more for how it sounded like 'violet' since I had to give her a purple GA coat heh-

no you didn't understand, a Throbred X Sellie Felisis and a Gypsy Vanner/Throbreed crossed with a horse good in speed/jumping.
I am looking to see if the first is a good idea, and what breed of horse has good spee/jump for the second cross
waw5cod - I think starry was confused because you put 'shire' instead of 'sire', which is the correct term for a horse's father. Shires cannot be bred to normal horses, only other drafts, which is why she got confused.

I can't find any selles with GP above 5600 to breed my kwpn with default smiley :@
By Retired breeder, 21st February 2016 05:59:39
I decided to go ahead and just breed her with a crossbred selle
here he is!

I might actually work this one up... I just need those 75 APs default smiley (6)
