Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

okay, this is my new project and I would like some opinions if you can:
Simon
I'm trying to get him to be a top ranking galloping standardbred
You should, providing he is in an EC with at least 57e lessons, do all rides that put skills onto gallop, fully cloud and lesson with WoY

Okay, totally gave in to the insane urge to have five main breeds and the need for a strong jump breed… Not too bad of a slogan in mind, though -- Iberians | Thoroughbreds | Morgans | Holsteiners. Not bad at all! Totally fell in love with the Holsteiner; while it may not be a Prix purebred for jumping (Hanoverians hold that), I can't help but love the Holsteiner… Incredibly perfect for my breeding on the US Server too. But, here, oh, *here*. Got three beautiful pure Holsteiner foals… And then went and crossbred!! Iberian warmbloods again, can't help it!

Victorious DWS, Purebred Spanish Horse x Holsteiner colt.

Dark Gold DWS, Lusitano x Holsteiner colt.

Nice horse blackvoid! I did one of my own, and he was in top spot for a long time before the current horse came along. I would maybe try to get higher IBS though. They seem a but low for the GP.
Hey everybody! I haven't been here in forever, how are everyone's crosses coming? Mine are pretty good except... I don't have the passes to get the items I need to train them default smiley (lol)

Hello all. I'm new to crossbreeding on this version. I breed high ranking PSH crosses on the US version, and on this version I'm going to focus on Paint x Quarter Horse crosses.

Here is one of the twins bred with the Hera pack. I think they'll do great in the Gallop Grand Prix. What do you guys think?

If you have a 75/25 Lusi/Fry stud and a 75/25 Fry/Lusi mare and you cross them would you get a Fry/Lusi foal?

Now to breed my TB/Mar mare to a Fry stud and see what happens...

Well now I have myself a nice barrel Friesian, lol Now all I have to do is actually work on him, and all my other foals, default smiley xd

Now *that* is a fascinating cross, The Fifth Estate! What a wonderful foal -- I have to say I think his skillset is a bit interesting. Never quite seen a cross like that.

Ahh… Decided to sell off my Holsteiner/Holsteiner cross stock and focus on my Iberians, Thoroughbreds and Morgans… I have this *obsession* with the base Iberian Warmblood, Iberian x TB… I wish my blupping would go faster, I really want to try a PSPxTB. Blergh.
OneTimeWinner

Any suggestions on what to do to finish BLUPing him?
Top 3 skills bars are done and all of his long trot rides and have gotten what skills I can from comps... still need 19 wins in comps though...

@Scarred Winter I actually have a lot of experience with this kind of skill set. It usually happens when I cross a Mar cross with a dressage horse (Fry or Lusi, or both). They make *great* barrel comp monsters.

I'm actually against crossbreeding, but I have my side in it; you can make new abilities and make the perfect horses. I have a tip, I wouldn't like to share it but allright, I'll tell:

If you fully BLUP two NIB, pure horses (it gives a better result for it) of good breed (choose the breeds carefully for what usage you want them to be; best breeds make the 3 abilities:

1 ability that is good, with the both breeds have the same strong ability but remember, only 1 same strong ability allowed! Then, make sure that both breeds have a different stronger ability, like paint horse has stamina and arab dressage. So 1 crossed ability that both breeds have strong, the same. Also that each breed has 1 strong ability that isn't yet counted) Then cross the 2 horses and give the newborn horse time on the meadows at 6 months and then at the age of 8 months - 1 year 6 months the 1.2 GP boost. This should make a great horse..

Sorry, it was a bit hard to understand but hope you did! default smiley :)default smiley :)default smiley :)

Want to work on another dressage horse to "stabilize" my EC's lessons at at least 56e, but I also really want to use my passes to get another divine out of the HOP promo. Decisions, decisions...
When I crossbreed, I like to separate the skills up into "Categories".
So, when I breed, this is what I want the horse to be like. If it is, I call it a "Rounded Horse".
Here is what I mean:
The skills that I want should be set out like this:
Either,
Stamina/Speed
Trot/Gallop/Jumping
Must have Dressage

So one of my horses, Sandy Bay , has the following skills;

Stamina/Speed- Speed
Trot/Gallop/Jumping- Gallop (But she is fairly good at trot too)
Dressage

As her top three skills, so she is a Rounded Horse.

A Nonrounded horse is a horse that has skills similar to this:

Stamina/Speed- Both
Trot/Gallop/Jumping-Trot
Dressage is not one of the top 3 skills.

So therefore, it is much harder to train and BLUP.

Sorry if it looks REALLY complicated, it's just how I like to cross breed default smiley ;)

At the moment I am breeding Arabians and Shetlands together, they seem to be a pretty good combination.
has anybody got a paint/standie stallion with a decent GP available for coverings?

Fifth- I'd do the EC booster. It'll work out in the long run. I'd rather get one of the top ECs than have a divine.

my barrel gelding has picked back up. 50 wins so far! Glad I didn't doubt him too much, would have sucked to sell him and see that he really was the barrel boomer I bred him to be

Very glad that I didn't use an A. Tears for this flub. My theory behind it was right, just not the result, back to the drawing board default smiley xd
