Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

@上海妹 Thank you!! He ended up #1 in KPWN jump and top 20 Elite for KPWNs (also the 200+ wins from last night was nice haha). He ended up doing pretty well in rosettes too (have almost 70 now) so it was a nice splurge of my BM items default smiley (lol)

I took a look at your crossbreeds and they're great!! maybe will have to ask you for a covering soon default smiley :d

I bred this little one today. Interesting-ish skillset with dressage and jump as the highest followed by speed, stamina, and gallop (all only 10 GP points apart though?)

Was hoping to skill this bad boy tomorrow, but I forgot I'll be heading out of town. I don't even have a box lined up either. So may send him over to a friend and let her get him done for me.
@Ever I'm very happy it worked out! If you need a cover, just PM me - I'll reserve one for 500e. default smiley :)

I'm planning on doing a Marwari/TB mix soon with a friend's Marwari and this mare: [urlhttps://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=52661825]Mystery Move[/url], but the Marwari not BLUPped yet, so I'll try something else first. Maybe I'll do a Fjord/TB, I like Fjords and it would be my first Fjord cross. Now let's hope a Fjord team gives out covers to crossbreeders. default smiley 8-)

The Marwari stud was ready earlier than I though. This is the trial filly: Mystery Gallop. If I redo her with tears, would it be a potential rosette horse, given that it's equipped with the right items? default smiley 8-)

no, you need higher speed/dressage for gallop rosettes. Nice cross though!

Forgive me for I have forgotten how to make a link. But if that url did not work, the foals name is Hopeful's Promise in the other horses tab.

I regret my breeding choices. You'll see why if you look at the foal. I have no idea what to do with it now

Okay what would be a good target trained cutting horse? What has awful stamina with high speed and dressage?

pure paints make wonderful target trained cutting horses. Kwpn also have horrible stam, so maybe a paint/kwpn

I was thinking something with KWPN. I have a PSH mare that is already blupped so I wouldn't have to invest in another broodmare, they have similar stats to paints. I think dressage and speed are kinda switched though.

Not going to do that cross til I finish the 4 I am working on now default smiley xd

I would like to have a group of 50/50 Selle X Teke crosses that breed true and always look like tekes. I know for breeding two purebred horses together the foal is the breed of the sire, but can anyone educate me about how the breed is chosen when two 50-50 horses are crossed? Thank youdefault smiley (8)

I have not been breeding for about a year, so I may remember things wrong, but I'm quite sure that with pure 50/50 lines you will inevitably get generations where the breeds flip. A workaround would be to start with a Selle that has tiny percentage of another breed.

For example this horse of mine, one grandparent has 1% KWPN, but the KWPN no longer shows up in the horse's genetics, as you can see. It not a true 50/50 cross, but the ends result is the same. I can't say for sure if over the course of many generations the game might forget the presence of the third breed, though. I did experiment with this last summer, and one breed did stay dominant, but I only kept experimenting for a few generations.
Thanks Horsebabe91! But, is there any tip on how to make a true gallop rosette cross with either TB or Marwari? default smiley 8-)

if you breed your TB to a paint, that works. I bred one a long time ago and won about 100 rosettes with him. (you would have to get a cover from the top paint team, not sure if they still offer those)

Recently bred these two fillies - Tevos and Dreamcatcher. Thoughts on what comps and discipline they'd be good in?
