Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I'm new to cross breeding default smiley :) I would like to start again like I did on my old account in 2008, but with a little more experience and understanding this time.

Which breeds would you recommend for a dressage cross? I'd say Lusis and Friesians, but I would also like a low trot GP, so I need help with that if possible. Thanks default smiley :)
you could go with a lusi/spanish, they have low trot and decent trot from what I can remember> I think paint too but not sure

Well you know how well that is going to go over with me.

I'm off to enter more comps, wish me luck LOL. default smiley :-))

Xellos, you might want to leave at least a few, because some people do honestly just want to BLUP. Doesn't mean you still can't fill most of them.

My Peruvian Paso - Friesian cross Ela
I will keep her and then bred to hopefully get a cross that is good for dressage, trot and jumping for western competitions.

Yay I dont go to school tomorow (because of Slovenian holiday) and I can work on my crosses.default smiley ;)
I"m leaving plenty of comps they can enter.

I'm not touching trot gallop CC dressage or open showjumping. They have all those they can play in plus I"m not even doing all the arab show jumping.

And I'm only entering open comps where I am the first one in.

they can get their blup wins many other ways. I"m not stopping them from that.

Totally winging it right now while I skill Avenging The Fallen. I didn't have a Nyx so I used what I got from the lottery and exchanges. Surprisingly, I've only had to adjust a few things and he's still close to being on track. Not bad I would say. Next time I get my passes I'll cloud him for more gains. Hopefully in a better center.

Hey all hope the crossing is going well!

Well I'm twiddling my thumbs for awhile. I'm waiting on some Arms for Criminal. Luckily, I have some aging points to get her started. Down side is I don't have time right now to work on her. default smiley :p

So happy that Leap of Faith got 20 wins. Also I've been home all day and I'm glad I didn't go to school. I feel pretty bad even with Tylenol and the first dose wore of around 12. If I'd been at school I would have felt terrible for a third of the day.

I attempted crossing after I read some help topics...

Do you think she is worth re-breeding with tears?
@ Snowbear, nice horse, are you trying for dressage? If so, you should try and get trot a bit higher, and gallop if you can, before using tears.

SnowBear, maybe try and get some fresian in there, it has good trot, but not the best gallop.
