Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

This is Shakespeare's link: http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=10153191

Shammy-Crossbreeding is breeding differnet breeds of horses together to try to raise the skills in certain areas and to make a better comp horse.

What breed do you think would be good to breed this pure irish hunter mare to?
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:28:12
Well, itunes, what are you looking for? Do you want to raise the speed/dressage/stamina, etc stats or go for putting the trot stat into the 100s?
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:29:53
Well amant,I am going to start to try to get stars in each skills since hunters are good in many things and was wondering what to bring up first.
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:33:49
You could try breeding her to a Standardbred, they have amazing trot skills, and then breeding the IH back into the line.
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:38:11
Okay I will try thatdefault smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:41:29
Hey itunes, can you take a look at my foals Polaroid and Shakespeare and tell me which one would be more profitable in the long run? They're both Paint-Quarter-Arabian-IH crosses.
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:43:18
Probaly Poaroid as he has higher GP and IBSdefault smiley ;)
LOL

I stroked Xanthos, and gained 10 energy points for CremeDelaRouge when she finished at 21:00.

So she had 32% energy, so I decide to do an extra hour of games......

1.22 GP gain! w00T!

Woot, beach horses! That's awesome! I always get energy points for the horses that I'm not focusing on.
By Retired breeder, 4th June 2010 23:52:58
beach horses,I beleive that no matter what 1.20 is the highest a foal can gain,as I wanted one of mine to gain a star and it was .2 away so I bought a black orchid and did about two extr hours of games and nothing happeneddefault smiley :(

Woo hoo! My appy cross has 9 wins at not quite 4 years. I entered him into a bunch of CC comps with only his dressage done (while working on his jumping) and he won 7 out of 9! I love crosses; I'm having a blast!

I've decided that what I'm really focusing on is speed. I'm going to try to breed some awesome barrel racers, with an attempt to stay with PSH. I like the breed, and they're not as intimidating as the Paints default smiley :p

By Retired breeder, 5th June 2010 01:21:01
Buckethead- I have one. His name is Myah's Teddy Bear.
By Retired breeder, 5th June 2010 01:25:02
I'm looking for one that is offering coverings that has a really good GP so this mare can produce best GP'd foals:

By Retired breeder, 5th June 2010 01:31:43
lol yep ^^ he's a good stallion. I would've used him if it wasn't her dad ;-;

Do you think if I did use him would that raise the GP or not?
By Retired breeder, 5th June 2010 01:34:32
Oh yes it would I have bred him to every daughter of his and it has raised the GP every time.
By Retired breeder, 5th June 2010 01:34:41
