It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I was asking b/c somebody mentioned looking for a foundation foal with less than 350 GP, but I have a foundation foal with 4800GP. So it threw me off. =)

spattymac there are really three groups of foundations that you can start your stock from if you are wishing to start from "scratch" basically.

1) The original Foundations. These are all the 350-351.20 GP horses with Ouranus and Gaia as parents. DO KEEP IN MIND for whomever would look for these, getting wins on them if they don't have them is EXTREMELY difficult.

2) The newer foundations or "rolling gain" (RG) foundations. Unfortunately I don't know at exactly what GP they start at, someone else is going to have to answer that but I do know that it's somewhere in the higher 3000s or lower 4000s. I believe at this point almost all breeds have these new foundations. These are the foundations that are gifted to new players now and are usually found with an P.Stone in that case. These horses are also Ouranus and Gaia pairings.

3) As just previously discussed, it depends on the NIBBER if they count these or not, but the Divine pairings foals like the Pastry divine foals. These foals do not have Ouranus x Gaia as the parents but two Divines. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but they will have the higher GPs as well I believe.

Looking through my RG Morgans, yes. GP is low 3100 and up to 4700. However my highest one is a Barb at 4800. So suffice to say, likely the next batch of new foundies will likely be in the 5000 range.

RG's are really kinda all over the place. I have some as low as 1400 GP. The current batch is in the 4800's.

I want to say it varies from breed to breed, but then with the release of Carmagues being in the 3000 - 4000 range, maybe not? I may have had some RG foundies that low at one point, but sold them off in favor of Morgans. Lol.

Opportunity especially for those trying to start out!!

So I may have overdone myself on my Holsteiners and have more than enough left over. If I can help any NIBBER who is breeding Holsteiners by selling them to you, please let me know. I will be selling them cheaper but they won't be free as they weren't free to begin with. I will also look at trading for the higher gp ones too 4600 and 4700 gps

These ones for sale would be in my Other Horses tab.

Is there any way to look at your horse’s entire pedigree and see if they’re NIB? I’ve been working with Gypsy Vanners for the last few years and my GP on some of them has hit 13-14,000 with no inbreeding afaik.

Unfortunately, no there is no easy way to look at the whole pedigree. Start with them then go grandparents, then their grandparents, etc etc. is the only way to actually see the whole thing right now.

Excel spreadsheets help default smiley :)

Second spreadsheets. I HAD to use spreadsheets with my all breed projects. Don't keep them now as I've simplified my breedings but should probably keep track anyways. Especially with my shelved projects like my NIB Morgans.

Anyone know how rare the old foundations are for the various breeds? And what about crossing between old foundations lines and new foundations lines? I know they would be NIB but not sure what category they would be under for the rankings here.

So this is in regard to the original 350-351.20 horses that were used. The 450.30 is the GP of a generational foal born from the original foundations and it has 2 stars compared to the zero the original foundations have.

And the new NIB horses are separated from the others, yes as they have higher GPs to start with.

At this time no one has entered an offspring from a new Barb NIB pairing no. I'm sure others like myself are still collecting what they need for their breeding program.

Yes excellence stars.

Some breeders will respond if you ask them but I don't think we have an actual list anywhere of who is breeding what.

I am breeding primarily French Trotter and also dabbling in the other newer GPs, Holsteiners, Barbs, Camargues and future ones.

That's not problem though it's a bit of a hit and miss with NIB players. (We tend to be focused on our own game due to the nature of NIBing. The forum is nice place for NIB players to gather but there is no set time or place and players come and go here as they please.) There were some postings last year here in this forum - you might have to dig through the pages to find them, though there have been many new NIB players and other NIB players have quit.

Your first question is a hard question - the only search function we have available to us is through the sales. You can search for horses for sale with less then 352 GP and give the year they were born. The original GP ran from 2007 to 2012. The older the horse the less likely to find it in sales. I only know of the Paint horses that I got and that was last year before the changes drastically altered the way players considered those classic horses. (i.e. companions are no longer from past).

But as a whole it's likely impossible to know how rare some of those classic horses are. Most of them are being held by long-timers (like yourself default smiley (8) ).

As far as your 2nd question - I'm in the process of trying to do the same - but not sure how they would rank either.

I have a list in my EC Forum that Asfridur made of a large group of NIBers and what they breed if that will help. It's been a minute since it was updated though.

I personally breed OG Hanoverians, regular and unicorns.

Also, breeding OG and RG together won't work in the rankings. I assume if you get a higher GP than the current one under RG then you can possibly have it put there but in general, breeding OG and RG are two completely separate projects.
