It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Updated the GP default smiley :)

Also, remember this is NOT THE PLACE FOR ADS. I hate to use caps but every time I come here I see somebody advertising a horse they have for sale. Unsolicited horse ads are not permitted. Thank you default smiley :)

WOW! foxy30001233...nice score!! And a great GP too!! Congrats!!!default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 18:31:18
Very nice foxy! That's a real treasure you've found! default smiley (y)

Sorry I have not been around, been busy having a baby and stuff (default smiley (lol)). Anyways, 3 of my foundy unicorns (friesians) have completed their wins (hoo-ray!), I just need to finish up on their training. They should be 100 blup in no time.

My regular Friesians are taking a little longer. Most of them don't have the added bonuses that my unicorns were piled on with. I think one mare has 13 wins and I have a PSH mare that also seems to be doing well in the competitions.

Wow, congrats!

I've managed to snag 2 untouched foals this month for Paints and I'd only seen one before; must be the month for them!
Jeteska, I've got about 8 untouched paint foundies (grown up now). A couple were from gaia foals. default smiley :d

I'm so excited! The NIB foal I put in auctions, he sold for 10K! I was expecting 2K or so. Oooo...when I get Adrian to blup finally...

Does energy left have anything to do with wins? I'm trying to figure out how Adrian beat a monster horse in one of his wins.
Afternoon all. Sorry I have mostly been out for the last few days. Been distracted by work and exhaustion and such lol

Energy does play a role...don't know how much of one..but I know I beat and got beat by the same horse, same level of difficulty and the only difference would have been energy level at the time of entry.

Congrats on your sale...that's a lovely surprise for your bank account!! default smiley (y)

Went on a bit of buying spree....couple o' pass-types (one of which is a NIB TB, who knew?) and then I got a notion to invest in a couple of TBs and name them after race horses I used to ride. Why, I have no idea, it's not like I don't have enough to do.....default smiley (o)

Couple of wins on the day with my foundies...lots of races still pending though...the low-skill races sure do fill slowly....
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:31:41
I still don't fully understand this "Gaia foals" thing. That didn't exist when I started. default smiley (o)

Congrats on the sale, SoulReaper! What breed?
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:33:01
Darn it all, I have no finished arab fillers. I hope a monster doesn't plop in this lowbie race...one spot left. -pokes barrel racing-

Oh, nice Wild North! I want a male friesian to name after my silly little mutt horse I had once. Shaggy wasn't black, but with the feathered hooves and the wavy mane and tail and curly long-ish coat, I don't know what else he could have been. He was sort of a really dark buckskin color. Had to shear him with the sheep each year or he'd get too hot. He had stripes though because I wasn't very good at shearing, he wouldn't stay still and he wouldn't let anyone else do it.

Everyone seems to be having some nice luck with nabbing foundnie or NIB horses from sales.
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:40:45
Arabian. :3

Gaia foals...it's where before you hit 20 days membership, you can buy a foundation foal for 2 passes and get 10 aging points per foal. They are the same foals you can choose from when you sign up, I do believe. Then there's a business key that lets you into private sales and auctions and have an ec early. And a new howrsian pack that gives you stuff and lets you make your first affix. Each thing is 2 passes. -got one of everything-

So...um, when did they steal away the thing where you had to clean your horse tack? I forgot the password to my first account ages ago and decided to join up again. My first account was from pre-unicorn and pre-western tack. Everything is so different now. I'm so lost all the time -clings to everyone-
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:48:07
I need a leash tied just short enough to keep me away from the auctions. I'm going on a spending spree today it seems. Just bought a 21* paint by accident... *facepalm*

SoulReaper: It disappeared a while back. I forget exactly when with all the changes that have been made recently. It was after I made this new account though, I know that. (not that it helps seeing as I've managed to rack up 200 days in what seems like 2 months... where does all my time go?)
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:52:41
Gaia PSH foal in auction, 2 more hours left. It's a female which I'm in desperate need for. All I ever seem to find are the males.

Hope I get her *goes to sit on auction*
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:57:37
lol Alassie I saw that one when on my random foundation bidding session but left her when I saw your name default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:57:49
I have a 1st generation colt born this morning named Blackened Lad He is going to have a GP of 357.49 after game play my own personal best for breeding 1st generation Hanoverians..Im so excited..default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:58:07
Yay! Today is Adrian's day for barrel racing! 2 wins. I need 15 more to blup.
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:58:57
that link didnt work..but woohoo..Im so excited..lol
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 20:58:59

By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 21:01:33

Congrats Starting Right =) And you SoulReaper
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 21:12:10
Thanks Sandstar12..default smiley :))
By Retired breeder, 25th January 2010 21:13:05
hmm Just picked up a foundie IH fillie... now I have no idea what to do with it. default smiley (lol)
Speaking of spending sprees, I went through and bought 15 horses today.....My goal is to own 1000 horses while maintaining my 1 mil reserve....lets see how close I can get. I bought an RDH with fully bolded skills and 4 wins along with several nice bonuses like stone and MA on her. She is prego so I don't know what to do with her....not my breed. Spent 8k on her but pulled her made to measure bridle off and sold it so was like 6500e instead.

Finally getting around to some of my foundies in training. May enter a couple of my comp horses today but not sure if I have enough time. Back to the grindstone
