It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

This is for the fellow breeders that have lots of foundations under their belt to help get the generations they need to proceed...

Do you guys get emails saying you are hoarding? I do..and too me that is not the case..I have worked hard for my money and I have spent over 30,000+ sometimes for all my babies..I put every BM item I can on them I put clouds on them to get the best of skills...

I give coverings that are cheap so people can afford them and so slowly my howrses can earn back the money they have cost me...I make custom foals that are sold basically to pay for the vet, turnips, vaccinations, and the little time of gaming I spend on them so they usually sell for 3000 or so because I make sure they are gamed to their full potential before I let them go..why? because it makes me look better as a breeder that all my howrses are to their full potential..Im not wanting to be egotistical..Im basically playing for myself and like all other people scared of the disappeared lines..which I know I want to be here for the long haul..

am I wrong? should I back down from auctions when im the first one at an auction and someone over bids me? Im so confused..and tired of the sob stories..im going to quit cause i cant get a 351.20 baby..someone I need guidance...default smiley :(

All I can say is thank goodness for new people and the Gaia foal...there is lots of new adults out there I see...all of you welcome if you are reading this..cause if it wasnt for you guys most of us would be pulling our hair out..lol

Starting Right, I actually haven't started with my NIB breeding yet, I'm still getting horses, but what you said makes perfect sense to me, since you are selling the foals after the breeding. I think you are right, keep breeding for yourself, and keep bidding. I hope I helped.
I'm back default smiley :)

While I was away Carnita found another random win for me, 2nd one and she only has 30ish skills default smiley :) (old when I bought her) and Rainbow_Pegasus was wonderful and got 3 wins default smiley :-)). Off to enter a ton. Hoping to work with all of my NIB stock in the next 3 days. I have them off from work so I thought it would be fun to see how many I could do. Wish me luck default smiley (b)

Starting Right: in regards to you above post.

You are a great howrse player. You have spent a lot of time obviously and money and your creativity to pursue this game in a way that is fun and important to you. When you succeed you will always have people who will bemoan the fact that you are more successful than they are. It is not your fault that you are working so hard to make your project a success. AND if you are a hoarder, well just look at how many Hackney foundies I have default smiley :)

Keep your chin up, ignore those who belittle and envy your success and know there are those of us out there who admire you.
If you are a hoarder *glances at my batch* then I am a mega hoarder lol. Over 200 foundation/NIB arabians alone......not to mention all the other nic-nacs I have lol

*claps hands* Graceful got her first win today too default smiley :-))

Congrats Forest, I'm still trying to find foundation PSH, maybeI should have gone with a more common breed. So far, I have 2 stallions halfway through BLUP. Going to work them, hopefully the one has gotten one more win....
Starting Right - I have had people pm me asking me not to bid on a certain horse, I usually just ignore or if I'm in a chatty mood, I'll send a note back with the definition of an Auction, that usually works. I wouldn't back down, we worked hard to get where we are and breeding NIBs means lots of work with lots of horses. Just my 2 cents.

Starting Right - I just want to say, besides that I agree with the above, if you think you hoard, I have a tab full of TB's that I never work, plus about 60 retired coats that once I buy them, they never get touched. If that isn't hoarding, I don't knwo what is.
default smiley :@ I am so impatient when it comes to comps running.....default smiley (lol)

If I spend my allowance on some passes, what sort of gaia foal is looked for most, should I get a colt or filly? I wish passes weren't almost three dollars each. default smiley :-x
Ferret - looked for by who? are you planning to raise the foal yourself or sell it? If you are going to sell the foal, I'm not sure if you'll get your passes back. If you are looking for equus, I'd probably go with an arab or hano foal. sex wouldn't matter too much, because a player can always bolt the foal to change the sex. If you're looking to raise the baby yourself, then just get your favorite breed.

Just remember that you're spending real money to play a game, you will not get that back.

good luck & enjoy the game.

Thank you, aml919.

I'm going to try to get enough passes so I can get another arabian and some sort of pony. I'm thinking of giving my aunt my arabian and getting ponies instead. I want to be able to train them so they have good babies I can sell.

So arabians are popular? Is there a popular pony breed or should I just try to get three more arabians?

My aunt already explained about the spending money on passes stuff. We're not going anywhere until mom gets better anyhow and my aunt wont let me spend more money on our ferrets yet.
Ferret - are you going to breed NIBs? if so, I have heard several people here say they breed NIB Connemara ponies.

According to the breed directory the ponies from greatest number to lowest on the game are:

Chincoteague
Australian
Welsh
Connemara
Newfoundland
Shetland
Quarter Pony

Thank you. I'll look at the connemaras and the chincoteague ponies. I kind of like shetlands, I've never seen a real one of the other two. I should do connemaras since there's other people who NIB them, it would make it easier to find unrelated horses to breed them with.

Have you ever mixed? Do mixes come out just as good as purebreds? I don't want to do too much mixing anyhow.
Crossbreeds do quite well though not many like to do so on the game with NIBing anyway. Crossbreeds are perfect comp fillers as they are usually lower in skills than their purebred counterpart. Selling arabian gaia foals would certainly get you equus fast as they can go for over 30,000e if you find an interested buyer. I don't know about ponies, I do know that australian ponies are hard to come by and I have heard mention of a few who breed them here.
