The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Ok...I've been doing mostly breed specific stuff, unless I happen to see a bunch of foundies in the all breed comps. I joined up with these when I did and before I could toss my old donkey mare in...someone decided to go and plop their Xanthos in...and it has 20 or so wins in each category! I just want to message the owner and ask why they have to ruin someone's chances of blup-ing their first horse, but I like my karma so I'm restraining myself.

A divine horse? How do they think that's fair? -_- Ugh, if it's not a BlUP-ed monster, it's a divine!

Well, I guess I should have tried to BLUP Adrian before breeding, but I fully bolded him and he's had some really nice foals and then I bolted him. He had a few more really good foals. 6/20 wins so far... -clings to Tikki- I want you two to have foal, but Adrian is being a brat... -sniffles-

I'm really hoping to have better luck with coordinating entering competitions with other NIB-ers.
I would stick with breed specific. I have the best luck in those comps and rarely ever stray from them anymore. Sometimes I'll toss a higher skilled/needing to be BLUPd horse into a race that looks like they have only foundations in them and see what I get but that is rare.

*eyes Soul cautiously as she clinges to my baby* Careful now, don't want to hurt the pretty boy default smiley :p

New NIB connie foal for sale message me if you want one with safe lines default smiley ;)
Also looking for stallions for stud? PM me prices and things please default smiley :d
Pintar5 i bought some NIB mares from YL too. They came to me horribly trained (by someone else) and if i can get those wins for them, I will have 2 mares for your stallys.

I have written a note in tigrelily's forum so others can get covers from my PSH bolded and blupped stally if they are interested in networking a little. I'm just starting out NIBing and it's very difficult to grab good PSHs. I seem to be fighting people for them in the auctions in the last seconds and losing and I don't have a lot of money or passes to spend on NIBs because the returns on breeding NIBs to start are null. I keep watching my already small reserves drop lower and lower slow training these kinds of horses.

Anyhow, I figure if I'm having a hard time finding them, other PSH NIBers must be too so let's keep in contact somehow as we blup our horses and pool resources. This forum is filling up quickly with a lot of stuff and it's very difficult to sift through it for what I am looking for. If we can all use one forum just for networking, that would be useful for people looking for specific breeds. I seem to recall someone else here having a place in their forum like that. Please let me know where it is and if it is active. Otherwise, can we all use tigrelily's forum or something. Please will someone PM me if there is another forum that is breed specific for easier searching and networking?

Gah I just lost an auction for a pretty low brow foundation stallion (350.14 GP) last minute; I had been winning at 501 (I know too good to be true) until last minute.. and got outbid at 1000e. I go to check their page and apparently they're some sort of foundation dealer, buys for 1000, sells for 3500. So I got him, but I'm a little sour at paying 3000e more than I had expected. Aw well, at least they didn't geld and try to sell (which I've had happen to me when outbid before)
*claps hands* One win for Rainbow_Pegasus (puts her at 12) and one more for Lux (puts him at 6....*sigh*)

Off to enter more default smiley :-))

Congrats on your wins Forest Queen.

I just entered my babies and probably won't get much because it's too late at night but I didn't have time to do it this morning before work. default smiley :( The interesting thing though is that my new first gens are doing well at their comps without any assistance from extra stuff. I'm pretty excited by this.

How are things for everyone going?

Emberrogue, I have a NIB directory in my forum. I try to keep it updated to the best of my ability when ever I find someone who is NIB breeding a specific breed. I take what ever help I can get though from you guys in keeping it updated default smiley :)

I have a PSH mare that needs one more win!! She's been remarkably easy in competitions, I have been very surprised by how well she has done. If luck holds out, hopefully she will have all of her wins tomorrow and I can finish up the rest of her training. Very exciting!!
Still not a ton on my end. Just trying to get the babies trained a little more. They are doing nicely, got a first win for a few of them in the last 3 days so it is looking up for them default smiley ^)

Cool, same here. I am working them but I seem to only have a short time to get on each night before it's time to do homework or get materials ready for work the next day.

If you don't see me on much don't worry I will be here at some point and time default smiley (lol)

I've noticed I do much better in barrel comps with my lower level horses than I do in gallop races. So far I have about 5 wins from different horses in them, just today! Flaming Torch just got his first win in one I randomly threw him into also. *shrugs* Don't know but I like them now.....funny as I never used to throw any of my ponies in there before default smiley *-)

Poor Rowen having to wake up so early default smiley :$. Hope something good comes of it for all your ponies.

Woohoo, 2 more wins for Beauty and she will be fully BLUP'd. She only has her top 3 bolded so skill wise I still have more to do with her but I am excited she is so close to being 100 BLUP. She has 350.88 GP so she will make a nice addition to my broodmare band default smiley ^). Off to work with more again, was in the shower for a bit of a break lol. I'm trying to work with all of my foundations, except one as she must be immortalized before I do anything else with her default smiley xd

Adrian pulled off another win! -hoards all the aging points for later tonight- I need 13 more wins to blup! Ooo..I should check my other foundies. I really need some stones. XD -shuffles around-

I plan on using Tikki to help me get and achievement too. I need to kill my donkey off for the pass to get a wand and have twins from Adrian. But I need my Adrian to blup! --shakes my silly arab-
default smiley (lol) Poor donkey, just a means to an end haha. I don't mind helping out (with Tikki) default smiley ;) and I'm in no hurry so be patient with poor Adrian before you give him shaken horsie syndrome

Couple more random wins but really not going the way I wish all of the wins would do haha. Got most of my horses worked today....not bad for being gone most of the day default smiley xd

Yay! My retired coat hanno foundie mare only needs five more wins to blup! Then I must try to bold her other skills.

Do you guys think I can at least bold this mare's main stats, or should I just get one foal from her and never touch her again so she doesn't die? I got her very cheap in auctions for being foundie and having a GA coat.

-cuddles Adrian lots- I love my poor gender confused mare, she's just so slow. -puts carrot on string donkey leading style-
You can definitely get the newfie mare bolded in her top 3 skills though she will be old when you get it done. It is best to get as much training and such as possible done with her before you breed her at all, otherwise you end up with some poor foals default smiley (lol).

Good job on the foundie hano default smiley (y)

Poor Adrian default smiley xd lol

Just realized I have 12 passes... so I'm off to BLUP two cute foundies with Nyx who sure are going to protest verrrry much when we're going to the competitions... arf, I just love 'em. default smiley :-))
Got that 30 min offer - buy a pass, get one more! when I logged in earlier, so it didn't take long before I had PayPal up 'n going default smiley xd

Noooo.. default smiley :( I messed up my PSH colt's foal games. default smiley :( Instead of 1 hour playing I clicked on 1 hour pasture and could not get back that hour afterwards. default smiley :( Note to myself : do not do foal games if you're not 100% focused. Ugh.
By Retired breeder, 28th January 2010 14:01:18
I'm so sorry Sunny default smiley :(
I know how painful that is. I do my foals only in the summer and all at one time in one lump so that I know that I'm all "put together" and focused on what I am doing. It's so easy to make a mistake on their games.

No more wins for Barlow (my PSH mare) over night, she's just one win away!! Crossing fingers for todays competitions.
By Retired breeder, 28th January 2010 14:13:54
Thank's Alassiel. Usually I also try to game my foals all at once, but this time wanted to take it easy on them.
I enjoy BLUPing PSHs, they BLUP much easier than Arabians, at least in my experience.
Good luck with the competitions! default smiley (y)
