It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Alright, sits back and waits for update. Got Lux to almost 7 years old and looking good so far. No wins that I noticed yet but he hasn't been entered in arabian "type" comps for the most part.

Amymone has won 13 races, and that's just being entered in them to bold her top three skills. She's still got more to run as well. default smiley :-))

Lux has some spurs, a pack and a seahorse to back him up but he is a 1st gen so it may be slightly more difficult to get those low level comp wins like you can get with properly trained foundations.

She's a foundie, and only has training in speed and dressage, entering low level galloping comps. Good luck with Lux. default smiley :d

Thanks, 2 2nds and 1 3rd so far but he has over 20 left to run and he is far from finished in all of his training. Just waiting for after the update to enter in some newer comps and hoping for fewer greenstars to be in them

Forest - nice progress default smiley (y)....I'm just as impatient..I've got over ten just waiting..waiting..waiting...

Starting Right - yeah, what everyone else has just said. default smiley (lol) There are a lot of folk quick to the old whining when they don't get their way....and as far as I can tell there's no shortage of foundies in the auctions at any time. Geez...'hoarding'? ...I suppose we could turn around and accuse the green monster breeders for hoarding all the elite horses then, couldn't we?! *shakes head*. I've lost more auctions than I care to think about but the last thing on my mind is berating the winner for not letting me win.....default smiley ;) And I think it's great that you are selling some of your foals....I think it's important to spread the NIB-love

Ferret -- welcome to NIB-Land....hope you decided to join the madness...default smiley ;)

I impulsively bid on a donkey yesterday....no idea why...I didn't get it, which is just as well...default smiley (o) I did pick up an interesting NIB cross though...*hatches side-plot*

*yawn* Well, none of the comps I checked on have run overnight so I'm off to do a bit of housekeeping in the EC then it's off to the salt mines for the day.....everyone gets a day in the barn.....the lucky ones might get worked when I get home..

have a happy, all...

Starting Right, I'm a hoarder and quite happy about it default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 27th January 2010 11:53:13
Accusations of hoarding? Seems like some players are taking their frustration out on successful and hard-working NIBers - I would never ask someone to stop bidding on auctions, as everyone has a chance to do so. I do remember back when I was still working on NIB arabians, I used to have one player PM me a lot asking me to bid on horses for her...and not seeming to understand that I wouldn't bid and then sell to her if I wanted the horses myself.

BUying NIB Irish hunters and PSH! pm me! will pay well!
Does anyone else do Paints? I need to find a 100 BLUP stallion for a cover and haven't had any luck in the breeding forums.

NTCHBL - I do Paints; have a breeding farm for my NIBs. Holy Grail 351.2 would be available for any 100 BLUP NIB Paint mare, but that would be the only type of mare I would do covers outside of my own farms for...
Rivenwood, I've been trying to contact you, please send me a PM if you haven't received mine. thx :-)

*sigh* All but 3 of Lux's comps have finished running and only 5 wins for him default smiley xd Good thing he is immortal and I need to finish skilling him any way lol

Today I am determined to work with all my forever black hanos... which are quite a few now as I, like many of you, are addicted to the auctions, but at least with my personally imposed colour restriction, it makes it a little easier to not buy as many.

I've had a bit a luck with showing, but not great. I've been averaging 10 wins by the time show jumping and cross country comps are done, even with filling. (which by the way, I have a bunch of hano fillers, so if you have any hanos you are showing or horses entered in no breed comps let me know and I will be more than happy to fill)
By Retired breeder, 27th January 2010 18:22:13
Does anyone here breed PSH? If yes, could you pm me? I am thinking about either starting to breed them myself or if I should sell my foundation mare. her blup is over 90 so I might start of with her...
My name is sleepingrose, and I'm a hoarder.

I think I would have difficulty in writing a civil reply to a message like that. Asides from my Hackneys (yes, I WILL work on them one day), I also have my TB and Connie GA collections on foundies and have started to hoard Marwaris, just incase I feel a change of breed coming on.

Right, I have a question.
What is the general consensus: fully bold, or just BLUP before breeding your NIBs?

The latter would be my preferred answer, as I spend so little time on my NIBs as it is. But if it makes a noticeable difference to foals then I guess my tactics will change.

I prefer to fully bold my horses before breeding but I use tears so as many skills available from the adults the better, besides, my little purple notebook I keep for myself has their maxed skills when they are done. Just little things I do for myself default smiley (lol). Now I'm not against using horses that aren't fully bolded. I believe Luxury isn't fully bolded but I got a very decent colt with nice IBS from his match-up with my 420% skilled mare Liberty (link is above for Luxurious One).

Oh and here is mine:

Hi......my name is Forest Queen. *moments pause for everyone to say hi*
I hoard GA horses, foundation arabians, GA ozcowrns, horses from the year 2007 and foals under the age of 6 months. I rarely do anything with my horses other than some of the arabians.

I believe that my 420 horses look at me with accusations of neglect everyday default smiley (lol)

*sigh* Well......off the the PS for more teehee default smiley (b)

I hoarde curiosities! Including certain retired GA coats, some breeds/colours of foundies, rare foundies (especially unicorns). I just like collecing things. I haven't had much time for working my NIBs recently, though. I'm sure I'll come back to them soon, but for now I'm not actively doing anything as I keep forgetting to breed my unis.
Yes, yipee!!! and I started breeding the ozcowrns......I keep going to bed to early or getting home to late or waking up to late to do the breedings. My sleep pattern is hectic and I am always exhausted but we both agreed when we started it would be slow going. She is in school so breeding is tough for her sometimes too.
