It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

@Rivenwood I heard you say you know who runs this site: http://peertech.org/gendb/
I would love to help get it up and running again^^
Or make one for my horses if possible. Is a site like that hard to create?
Thanks guys! default smiley :d Woke up to find Moon Raven at 100% BLUP....so now I've crossed her & Lonesome Red, for what will be my first NIB foal. Yay!

Sunny89, i have 2 stallions with 100 BLUP. One is 4th generation horse and the other is 3rd generation default smiley :) Latif and Basir.
By Retired breeder, 14th January 2010 20:03:17
Sunny83* Sorry, little typo :P
bluetempest,

Thanks for the fillers they really helped now Lantern is up to 5 wins woohoo!!

I try to do that too with some of my younger horses that aren't as good I will put them in with ones I want to win and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

My 351.20 Mare Nawal is up to 18 wins and still has 10 classes to go today. I can't wait for her to get done.

and I have one other foundation that is 6 wins away from being 100 BLUP but he has decided he isn't winning anymore and I can't make him. Time to bring out the extra incentives lol

I agree I really like the challenge of breeding NIB horses it's just the waiting that kills me sometimes. default smiley (lol)

Okay now I need to repent. I started auctions anonymous this morning after going on a buying spree and getting three foundation Arabians yesterday and blowing my wad. It has now been 15 hours since my last purchase.

default smiley :)

Rowen: Yay for you! 15 hoursdefault smiley (y)
Unfortunately I had a relapse this morning and spend a small fortune on a gaia foal. He was worth it though default smiley :d
By Retired breeder, 14th January 2010 21:51:29
I had a relapse too and spent 503E on my newest foundy arab from auctions. Yay!

Grrrr...sure, UFO's, give me something I can't use right now! -grumbles- pass x2! I can't afford to buy one, so how does it help if I get three for the price of one? -shuffles off grumbling more-

This site loves to torment me, I know it!
By Retired breeder, 14th January 2010 22:11:22
lol, I always get those. Great help for someone who can't buy passes! I'm staying well clear of auctions. I'm not addicted (yet) but I'm taking warning from you guys - I see how dangerous they are ^_^ I need my funds in tact!
By Retired breeder, 14th January 2010 22:18:41
These GA coats are getting very disheartening...I lost a total of 8 coats and I didnt want howrses with wings and now im stuck with them cause i put GA first before the MB...just trying to make my howrses look nice and of course that all goes to mud...I hope some people make some really nice real looking pegasuses so i can put them back on..I hate wings..lol
Woohoo!!! My mare finally got 100 BLUP and has earned her place in the Elite Barn

Her name is Nawal!

She is a 351.20 Foundation Arabian

Now I just have to get her boyfriend done.

Oh well back to the training barn.

Okay, I could't wait. default smiley :p Aged my mare until she foaled!

I'm very pleased - my 350.56 foundation stallion and 351.54 1st gen mare produced a 356.75 colt, who I guess would be 1 1/2 gens. default smiley (lol) Can't wait to get the little guy in Foal Game Boot Camp.

Necolasa, my husband runs that site, and it was very, very hard to make. Its also no longer possible to update and properly maintain: it had to be stopped once horses started to show up as "Horse Disappeared" default smiley :(
I just realized that it's spring Woot! I just put all my babies in EC's and got them all fed and rested because tomorrow they start boot camp. Now I just need to invest in more passes hmmmm.....

Starting Right, they were all removed for people stealing artwork from others, but sorry for your loss. Can't you find a horse wearing a GA coat you like and click then stick on your pegasus horse? That way you don't have wings?

Yay for spring! I can train my foals now!
By Retired breeder, 15th January 2010 01:20:57
Congrats on your 100 BLUP Rowen!

Great news on your foal Misabel!

I just picked up this girl from the PS for 10,000e.

Strawberrie-O

She was obviously mis-trained, but she is still young, so hopefully I can get her comp worthy soon and fix all that.

This does make it so I have 3 boys and 3 girls, but I am not sure I want to wait for training a mate for Mist Wraith. I supopse I can dump some of my Age points into him though.
By Retired breeder, 15th January 2010 01:51:46
Yay for everyone's good news -- congrats on your foal Misabel!

*yawn* long day at the salt mines....

Off to see how my afternoon comps fared....

*~*two days since I even clicked on the trade tab~*~

condolences on your relapses folks.....default smiley :p
By Retired breeder, 15th January 2010 02:11:45
@Rivenwood that stinks, ok thank you very much for your help^^
Thank you, Annawe & Wild North. default smiley :)

Of course, can't have everything go right in one day - I won an auction for a foundie mare, and failed to notice that she was pregnant until I saw the little icon in my stable. How'd I miss that?! default smiley :o

Just my luck, Daddy is an inbred Friesian. default smiley (lol)

I wasn't on at all yesterday except to check my PMs and look how far you guys got!

Saw Rowen ask about the whole POC thing.

I elite trained Tikki and let me tell you it wasn't cheap but the turnout was great for me default smiley (7). So here is the 411 on clouding, since you weren't sure what it entailed. You can place 20 clouds on a horse which will bring a horse to 40 months younger than they were. This gives you 40 more months of lessons as long as you cloud them before 25 years old. Lessons are a great way to get the last couple of skills to break 400 on a horse that had poor lessons when they were younger or if you want to attempt an elite training like I did. All together Tikki cost me, 30 passes (nyx, a. pack, WOY and 20 POCs).....very very spendy but it was all worth it to me default smiley (lol)

Off to auctions default smiley :p

*bats at Forest Queen*

Are you supposed to be trying to avoid the auctions? *laughs*

I couldn't wait. I just had to see him.

Farook

He came out rather nice actually. I am looking forward to seeing how he does.
teehhe default smiley :p

I noticed you in auctions default smiley (lol) and liked the horse you ended up with default smiley xd Forgot it's auction ended when it did.

Sigh* Won a few without being there for them though and several for cheap default smiley *-)

Nice foal Annawe default smiley (y)

Misabel - default smiley (lol)....I've got one of those too...I'm expecting a Newfie/Connie foal in a day or so....*sigh*.....but I wanted the mare so.....guess I'll dabble in mixed-breeding! (GASP!)

Thanks for the PoC tutorial, FQ...I guess I knew what they did but wasn't sure why anyone would use them....got it now!! I *get* the spendy thing too -- trouble is, I'm an impatient sort so the plodding way of un-passed blupping drives me mad...thusly, I have my greenstars to keep me entertained while I chip away with my real treasures....

Hit the board a few times with my new NIBs.....encouraging since some of them had been wonkily trained...

Off to look at all your purchases....

PS. Lovely foal, Annawe!!

Hello!

I am a new player and I have a 351.20 Thoroughbred foundation mare, and a male Gaia foal - also TB. I bred my mare to another foundation (but 350.40 GP - Eye of the Storm), and have two Tear-bred foals of 356.61 Gp and 106.96 inborn skills.

I am interested in a NIB TB partnership if anyone wants to work with me.

Thanks for reading,

Alp
