The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

FoxxxPawz - I took screenshots of each horse's lineage, since I don't own a lot of the sires. I don't know how others have gone about protecting verification of lineages.

equusryder, thanks for the idea. I have a lovely second generation shetland stud I would like to ensure as a NIB breeders' option, but never thought to take a screenshot of his lineage.

Hrmm .. out of curiosity.. if you breeed 2 foals from the same parents.. one with tears one without.. and the foal without tears has the better GP which would you keep? The one with higher skills or the one with higher GP?

You can have a NIB crossbreed and uni rejects count. I have quite a few NIB uni rejects and NIB unis.

@ livelyblueyes the one with better GP to me that is the primary thing that counts. In fact I would not use tears if I could buy them. They not only add skill to ones you need to finish training but also to ones that slow it down so I go without. Besides I seem to spend more time on my foundations anyway.

Yeah but they always have a hugeee familyy tree :/ is there noway you can buy a horse that has teh orginal parents that your first horse has ?

'quest - you can, by searching the sales and reviewing pedigrees. It helps if you set the search criteria to 100% purebred and under 351GP default smiley :)

Merry christmas everyone. default smiley :) Tempest thats what I basicly decided on. I have goe nuts on the tears thing lately but I am thinking about dropping them totally. I would rather use that pass for something else. Although Once I hit greenstars I will likely start using those tears again just to get as many skills as I can as they will start being immortals in my line at that point ( more or less for sentimental reasons). I have aged out 4 horses at least so far today. *sigh* Been comping them as much as I can prior to death so I can get the max benefit from them passing. ( obviously before age 25). I managed a few foals off of each set I aged out. I will be keeping one and selling the others if anyone is interested.

I have one other question.

Is there someone where I can find NIB breeders?

Namely Arabians and Friesians. Or would I have to read through the pages on this post as the only source?

will75 breeds arabians and I believe Forest Queen does. will75 is in the process of selling off his Arabians. Believe he is changing breeds if I remember right. may take awhile to get a response from him as he is not on much lately. He logs in fills for me and basicly logs off. ( will75 is my husband). I know he has a few 100 BLUP rarely used horses that he is selling. Other than that I am not sure .. i am a bad wifey lol I have not paid very much attention to his arabians.default smiley :p

Merry Christmas guys!

Just started working Samson and I've hit a dilemma. He's only gaining gallop from rides but speed/dressage is not bolded and I don't have a TOG, so... Do I keep comping him to bold out speed/dressage, or do I maybe wait a few days to finish rides off and try and get a TOG?

I don't like comping without a TOG, and I want to keep his skills as low as possible so that there's the possibility of him getting more wins. He already has 1 win at the moment, hoping to get a few more while I'm deciding. Although I might leave him until after Christmas as then it'll be less hectic in the house.

And... it's 2 am.... Need to go as will be up very early tomorrow morning. Well, later this morning anyway.

Personally I would enter other types of competitions other than the type you're leaning towards (seems to be jumping) that give speed/dressage to continue working on bolding them out. I generally go for gallop/trot races and while I don't have a Tub I'll enter into jumping comps so I still get the speed/dressage gains.

That way you're not getting any more of the jumping gains, but you're still working towards bolding things out.

I understand not wanting to compete without a Tub, but the time it can sometimes take to get one can't be wasted (unless you have a Timer, since then you'll have lots of time fully bolded).

Of course, if you're not really worried about -bolding- and just focus on -blupping- then you could probably wait until you've got that Tub.

And, hey, taking time off until after Christmas isn't a bad thing to do, either. The holiday only comes once a year and you've got the rest to play with howrses. default smiley :)

Well, I started training my foundie hano colt, Light in the Dark, today. I got him at 2 months old. He's now just over 10 years, and...he's already 100 BLUP!

Now it's time to go enjoy my husband and puppy for the holidays! :]

I trained my first horse, Hatake Uchiha. She is 100 BLUP and fully trained. She has beautiful colt named Hatake Umino.
