The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I have some (10+) 350 GP foundies. PM me if anyone wants some of them - I have Haflinger, TB, Arabian, QH, PSH, Lipizzan, Shire (with covers left), Chincotegue pony, and probably some other ones. I haven't bothered putting them in sales. They're in my Trophy Rares tab if you want to look through them.

Goodness it sure has been a long time since I've played this. Lots of changes since I was last on. Will have to revamp my stables and map out a new NIB program. It's been many, many years since I had the first NIB Arabian to a Star.

If anyone is looking for any stud fees on some original foundations please let me know as I may have something tucked away in the stables.

Is it appropriate to list sales here or is there a different forum for selling foundies?

I came here to find out if the issue of pastry horse foals has been addressed - as in, is each foal considered new genetic material, coming from divines, or would only one foal from each pair of divines be considered useable for each breeding program..? Thanks for any insight!

Strykeer777337, while it's not appropriate to list sales here you can always list it as a question/offer. Say if you have Ponies that you want to go to NIBBers, take a look in my ____ tab as I want them to go to a home they'll be useful!

gaff, from what I understood is that while each foal would be considered a 'first generation' , foals from the same parents (identified by ID number in their url) should not be bred together. Someone else chime in.

Happy holidays everyone!

I have some 350GP foundations in a tab (no GA/RC coats) and some in my GA/RC coats tabs. I'm not playing as much now, so if any NIBers here are after some new foundation stock, send me a PM!

I have some foundies if you are interested in them. I thought about breeding them but with all the other horses I'm doing its not going to happen. So I would rather give them to someone who would like them.

I have this Canadian Horse mare that is an original foundation horse (350 GP) that is 100 BLUP and wearing tears/wand. I'm hoping I can find someone with a foundation that I could get a covering from or if a hardcore collector of the originals wants her I might be able to work out a deal (she has a retired coat though so I'd rather breed her and keep her). Willing to offer one of the twins or both to someone focused on the breed.

If anyone is looking for Foundies, I've been snagging some in the auctions lately and would be glad to pass them along to someone who could use them! I was into NIB several years ago before my account was reset, but decided to take another path this time around.
I also have several 100 BLUP Foundies from a few months ago when I rejoined Howrse if anyone is looking for coverings. While I'm not into breeding them myself anymore, I'd be glad to help with other people's projects! Feel free to send me a PM.

Hi all - not sure if anyone will remember me now but I used to breed NIB paints back in 2011.
I've been dabbling with my foundies again seeing as my previous 5th gen is now not even anywhere near the GP of a 1st gen. Has anyone else been noticing funny skillset swaps or do I just have a glitchy foal?

Same parents but the filly has the normal paint speed/dressage/gallop top skills and the colt goes speed/gallop/dressage

Any ideas?

I have a male Newfoundland pony with 5212.00 GP.
I might blup him. Would anybody be interested in covers? He's a foal at the moment. Not sure if blup would matter.
500e per cover? Not sure what to price it as. He's a foundation and I can't sell him so I just decided to make a use for him

I don't have the patience to breed NIB horses although I've collected quite a few foundations.
If you are looking for a NIB Camargue stallion, I have a fully BLUPed foundation stallion with 4746.00gp which I am more than happy to give coverings with, just PM me. This is him.

Took a look and that is indeed interesting. How far apart were they bred? I'm wondering if it could be a glitch as both parents have the speed/dressage/gallop in both skills and genetics yet too.

I'd be interested in if you bred another one if it turned out "normal"

I honestly haven't been paying attention to the GP on my new ones >.< so I couldn't even tell you.

Also just to let people know, most NIBBers won't want to breed outside of their group as their is a chance of that horse disappearing and it is considered dangerous to breed outside of the collective if you're building generations. So some smaller projects might be interested but most of us have been burned in the past using outside horses so stay away from it now unless we own them or someone we know/trust owns them that breed with us.
