This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

That coat was made by Strange who was a chat owner and moderator for All Howrse formerly owned by Rivenwood. It is common and one of the most loved coats ever made. I miss her and chat. She is still on Deviant Art.

That was taken from a photo. It is True Retired coat and cannot come back without Logow doing CPR on it, lol. For those do not understand: it was removed by Howrse.
It is common so I am not guessing on a price. Try auctions to test the waters.

Sigh . . . I just saw the CraXoR coat that I want in the PS for 100,000e and 10 passes. I have the money, but it would leave me with only 20,000e and 3 passes, and I just can't afford it. Oh, the irony!default smiley (lol)default smiley :'(

Okay, I just bought this coat and I like it quite a bit. I am still having a hard time being able to tell the difference between rare and retired coats and just the normal ones. Anyone that knows how to tell for sure, please PM me. Either way, here's a new coat I bought. I have tons of GA horses (way too many to post here!) and need help deciding which ones are rare! New coat:

Rare can simply mean that the coat has not been used very much in the game yet. There are a lot of coats still available under the Golden Apple that have had very few uses on horses, so are classed as rare simply because there are not currently many horses in the game with that coat.

Rare and retired coats are those that are no longer available to use on your horse and are very difficult to find, usually either because they are old (and a lot of horses with the coat have died/been sent to the Haven/were deleted when the owner quit, etc) or were not available for very long before being retired.

I haven't bought any more coats for my collection for a while now as it completely drained my equus, but I'm still keeping an eye out for any I like.

PaintHorse08 that coat is available but is one of the coats I strongly recommend getting. Cannot say why. If you look at the history it has been sold many times. The coat is not rare and I would buy it only if I needed that coat but I could just pay a pass and a howrse for it. It is a lovely coat by the way.

Now to repeat what Ii said before and wish Jaguar would add to her original post.

TRUE RETIRED COATS
A true retired coat cannot be bought with a golden apple. The CraXoR Exception is when a coat maker retires their coat and later brings the coat back on the market. Except for the CraXoR Exception you cannot ever get that coat again.

GLITCHED RETIRED COATS
These coats say you cannot buy that coat any more but actually you can buy that coat with a golden apple.

RARE COATS
To me it is a coat that few were made or a coat that 100+ were made but many were sent to safe haven, lost to deleted accounts or the howrse died. If a coat is available to be bought then its total production could go up if the coat becomes popular, if someone gets a bug to make the coat popular, or buying by collectors increases the coat. I do not buy rare coats yet. I only will get one after I have bought all the other coats that are glitched, retired, or have priorities to me.

WHAT TO BUY
I am buying up for my friend the following in this order.
True Retired Coats
Glitched Retired Coats
Coats of Questionable Origin such as ones that are taken from models
Coats that are made by players who are not active any more like Fleeting Shadows or whose account was deleted.

I got me a couple coats I told my friend to hold onto because I believe in time the coat should be retired because it is from a model, from a painting, from other peoples photos and art, and from 3 people whom I know have used stolen art work but who were not banned. I am not telling even my friend who those people are and Logow was told last year about them.

As for special coats for divine howrses there is little market and they are special howrses.

Okay mechurchlady - I tried to take your advice and get a coat that looked like it would be taken off soon because it looks like it was copied straight from a picture. Here is a link to the horse that I put the coat on. The coat is still avaliable, but hasn't been used much. Tell me if this is more on the right track.

Actually first save your money. Go for the ones that are cheap. Get the glitched ones, true retired then if you have money left get the ones thata re semi retired player made.

Choose coats you like as that is more fun than trying to own everything. me and painty are where we are out of glitched adn retired coats to get. Now we are going after other coats.

That coat is a probably from a picture but kind of hard for Howrse to prove unless someone can come forward and say they know that it is stolen. Her second coat looks like a cut and paste. In time you get to where you can look at a coat and see tale tell signs. Howrse is not going to remove her coats unless someone were show clear cut proof and even then the coat might be allowed to stay.
