The circle avatars were a bad idea. Not because I dislike circles, but because it took away the freedom of choosing the avatar shape from the player. Thank you for changing it back.

The problem with changing the size to 96px—a change of 24px—is that it leads to all of the player artwork becoming obsolete unless reverted back because the avatars will not display correctly; the avatars are also off-center Additionally, now everyone will have to make new avatars to fit the change. This is why they should be changed back to the larger size of 120px. And if you dislike the "large" avatars—like - Orchid - said—you can simply zoom out.

I definitely think the size should be reverted back. You can barely see the details in my avatar.

Thanks for listening to us in regards to the forced crircle shape, I really appreciate it. It would be very nice if it was still able to be the 120x120, but I appreciate this being restored. default smiley (y)

I agree 100% when it comes to the avatars. I recently changed mine, and really liked it, but now you can't make out my username on it anymore. default smiley (o)

Thank you for restoring the square avatars, it's nice when players are heard.

Can we please sort out the alignment on the team pages?

*What* circle avatars?? default smiley (o) No such thing. Or did we change the names of shapes, then? Is that not a square over there anymore? Mind, the way 2020 is going I wouldn't be very surprised... *eyeroll*

-----

Today's DC announces, "Corrected notifications relating to the equestrian center on the mobile version: they sent the player to the home page instead of a nonexistent page."

Could we please fix notifications on **desktop/classic** for the equestrian center? Is that possible?

Or were they just deleted from the game other than boarding extension requests? Because those are the only ones I get -- NOTHING about crops or workshops at all.

I doubt they were deleted as I've seen other players in here saying that they get the usual notifications about *their* crops and workshops. I don't get them at all, and have not since this debacle began. I can show you a screenshot. And this is not the first time I've complained about this, but nothing is fixed.

The shape of the avatars were very temporarily changed from squares to circles...they've been changed back to squares now, although they're slightly smaller than they used to be. I literally laughed at the "the way 2020 is going" comment, but yeah, don't worry, I don't think anybody's trying to change the names of shapes...at least not yet. LOL

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or you weren't here when it happened, but the avatars were circles this morning. And are now back to squares but the dimensions have changed to 96x96 rather than 120x120.

we're not stupid. why would we make up our discontent with the sudden and unannounced avatar change. you may not have been online when the change took place as it was changed and reverted today, but please don't act like we're fussing over nothing, it's unbecoming.

Not everybody's online 24/7.

The change to the shape of the avatars was very brief and was reversed very quickly afterwards so this topic is probably pretty confusing to anybody who wasn't online while the avatars were circles or simply didn't notice the difference.

I don't think she was trying to make anybody feel stupid.

i understand that.

however, she could have educated herself on the topic or asked elsewhere before posting something that insinuated that we were making things up.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but what is the current size of the avatars? I've seen the numbers 100x100 and 96x96 floating around, but what is it actually? Also, are avatars still limited to 50KB or less?

Its 96x96, stupidly tiny. And I think its the same KB as well.

Ah, I see, thank you! 96x96 is... quite a strange number.

I am also not getting notifications about workshops or crops!!! And no, it is not cache and cookies as I have cleared them many times! Please fix that problem as well. I am not the only player with the problem for sure default smiley :(

Gif avatars are limited to 50kb, still images are 500kb. I believe team pfp's are 40kb.

Howrse. Change the avatars back to 120x120, please. 120x120 was already tiny. Or at least, tiny to work with. Why make it worse? If people, such as graphic makers, are suffering from a change like this, as well as players who are in possession of 120x120 avatars, hard work has been wasted. You can't candy coat that.

Fortunately, I am still able to use my 120x120 avatars. I am unsure if anyone else can, but that's the way it is for me. Besides being an annoying kind of tinier, I can still use my 120x120 avatars.

Still... why make unnecessary changes like this, when better changes can be added to the game? No one asked for an avatar adjustment. If no one's asking for something... it's probably because no one wants it. Simple.

Please, change it back.

The newest version of this change is awesome...those who prefer square avatars can keep them (and if the difference between what I believe is 100px x 100px and what used to be 120px x 120px is that hard to adjust to/see right, you can simply zoom in on the page) and those who prefer circle avatars don't have to deal with that darker brown square outline. That was the one thing preventing me from having a circle avatar in the past.

Why should people have to zoom in if they can see everything else fine? I don't have visual problems with this website normally so zooming in simply to see people's avatars while everything else is made giant is quite irritating. It would be kind of counterproductive to make everything else on the screen less aesthetically pleasing just so I can make the avatars more aesthetically pleasing. I have to zoom in to 125% to get avatars back looking how they looked, and now everything is so big that it's annoying. When you zoom in, all the images that are at their original size become distorted from being made bigger. I go to my profile page and my layout is now distorted, so I'd have to zoom in and out every time I wanted to look at an avatar so it wouldn't affect other images. Even if I do that, other people won't, so everyone will see my avatar as it is distorted into 96x96 instead of how it actually is and it doesn't look as nice. I'd like people to see my work as I created it. If you think having an outline around your avatar is so bad that it prevents you from having a circle avatar, now imagine your avatar being distorted into being 24x24 pixels smaller, which is significant when it comes to an already small avatar. It's a whole 20% smaller. Gifs already suffer from distortion because that's just the nature of them and what happens when you animate, and now my gifs are even more distorted due to this change. I could go into Photoshop and resize the avatar to at least make it slightly more crisp, which wouldn't solve all the problems of it being sized down (text would still be too small, colors would still not look as nice, etc) but at least it wouldn't look as blurry. (It still doesn't look good. It looks like what happens if you sharpen a low quality image it too much, not a natural crispness.) But if I did that, then I couldn't just zoom in as you say because if it was actually 96x96 and I zoomed in, it would then become distorted from being made bigger. Now because of this people will start making avatars that are actually 96x96, so zooming in to make them look normal won't work if 96x96 is their actual size. Most people don't like this change, and if most people either dislike it or don't care for it, then it should be changed back. Unless Howrse did this for functional purposes like correcting lag. If it was done for aesthetic purposes, it should be changed back because many people are unhappy with it and I really don't see who it benefits besides the tiny minority who like it better this way and don't see that it's a problem that graphics designers and people with previous avatars are affected by it. People who make/have pixel avatars and avatars with intricate borders are even more affected than I am because those types of graphics are very detail-orientated and require the crispness of their original size to look their best and sizing them down most certainly messes them up.
