They seem to have changed it back to normal size on our profile pages, 'cause I have a tab open from yesterday of my profile page and it's 96x96 there but on my profile right now it's 120x120. But it's still 96x96 in the forums for some reason. Howrse, please change it back on the forums as well. But I'm happy they at least changed it back on the profile pages.

Yesterday I sent a message to Contacts before they changed the avatars back to squares. Their response:

"With the site update that took place yesterday, players had an unexpected tease of an upcoming surprise planned for September 8th. Keep an eye out on that date to see what it could be default smiley ;)"

So there's that.

If they're bringing these circle avatars back, they had better be an 'either-or' option. I really don't want to be forced into circle avatars.

A surprise??? default smiley :o Perhaps we may get the opportunity to switch to a more modern and cleaner interface, or continue with the classic style?
And I agree with ♕DisneyQueen♕, we should get the choice to have a square or circle frame for the avatar.

At the minute, I’m enjoying how there isn’t a ‘frame’ around the avatars. It makes transparent backgrounds and circle-designed avatars (such as mine) more visually appealing and cleaner-looking. I hope they don’t add that back.

Thank you for resorting avatars! Please don't force players to use that change, have it as an option, you will ruin a lot of players days and make us graphics artists waste so much time remaking everything for everyone we've made avatars for.

That sounds ominous default smiley (o) Guess it's time to work on a new avatar then default smiley :@

8th of September is the big Equideow birthday celebration isn't it?

Ha! I just went and checked the 'Best memories' thread and there it is..

Important:
- A selection of the memories our players share with us will be used on the game and our social networks. Please note that your username, version and *avatar* will be used in the special event.

unexpected tease

How does one "unexpectedly tease" someone?
I just don't get how it was unexpected when they decided to change it.

I find on mobile, medi bang is definitely the best for still images, (especially transparent ones in my opinion) ezgif is the best (that I've seen) with gifs.
And if you want to edit the gif itself instead of just resizing it, you can use medi bang to edit each individual slide of the gif.

On computer I know people use gimp and some other photoshop apps.

OK, the last gazillion pages are full of comments on the brief avatar problem, and I have no nerves anymore to try and read on in search of something else, so I’m gonna ask straight away...

Excuse my stupid question, but where did the items history page move and, more importantly, WHY???

It went to the bottom of the black market/store. Did you not try the forum search feature? It's helpful for sifting through messages.

That change was at the beginning of August I think - when the rearranged the account page (but once again didn't log it in the change log default smiley (d) )

So there's that.

Seriously? No one liked the tease. I'm hoping the reason they changed it back was because they actually listened to the uproar from players. And not because something even more disastrous is about to come.

The surprise better not change the avatars unless they give us an option of circle / square, like ♕DisneyQueen♕ suggested. Howrse, are you blind to the complaints? Please don't make the surprise something we'll all dislike... please...

I would love to have a circle instead of a square. However, having it being an optional thing would be best.

I've just noticed that on the account settings page, under your game play preferences, the restart your account button no longer has any context...there used to be a description saying exactly what would happen/that it was irreversible. Now it simply says "restart your account." To anybody updating their game play preferences/not paying attention, it may look like a confirm your changes button. I nearly clicked it myself just now. To anybody not familiar with the ability to restart your account/what it entails, it may look like a hard refresh to enable your updates. I'm aware that you have to enter your password in order to actually restart your account, but this wouldn't really come across as strange to anybody thinking that they're simply confirming their changes/refreshing their account to apply their updates, as many websites require you to enter your password to confirm any major account/settings changes. Either way, it's now extremely easy to accidentally restart your account, losing all of your hard earned progress, and any real life money spent. Is it possible to re-add the description of what restarting your account does/that it's irreversible so nobody makes this mistake?

Give me my read notifications back. default smiley (lol)
I could reach them at a glance and now I need to go to the Notification Centre AND tick the "All notifications" box before they show up.
Please let us choose to show the read ones?

HellOw! Some modifications and additions have been made to the notifications center: you can now choose which notifications you want to activate! Once again, we would like to thank you for all your feedback, we are reading it all and are trying to do our best to adjust our features according to your needs. Check out this month's brand-new features in the new Dev's corner! Best wishes, The Howrse Team

I second this. There was a heartbreaking thread in gameplay earlier this week where a player with 4000+ days accidently did this.

They updated something in preferences and thought the restart button would apply the changes.

Did I just reset 12 years of my game?

I actually got a lump in my throat when I read the conclusion default smiley :(

Please Howrse, add back the text that gave warning that everything would be deleted just by clicking that button. Please.

Oh, I actually came here to ask where my notifications had gone to as I refer back quite often.

I now see I can select all notifications to see them so I'm good with that.

Despite my initial horror at losing our office I'm getting used to the notifications now. 12 years of brain and muscle memory was bound to object but I've settled into it and the tweaks to the user experience are refining it nicely.

In case this is scaring anyone I can confirm (having personally checked it on my US account) that if you press that button a large pop-up appears with Emma telling you

" Restart your game
If you reset your game, you will lose your horses, your seniority, your Pegasus or VIP subscription, and your reserve will return to its initial value."

You have to enter your password to confirm. It would be difficult to miss and as we have all at some time learned to our cost, ignoring small pop-ups is silly, this one is huge.

Thanks Deimos,

That's slightly reassuring. There was no way I was going to try clicking that button default smiley :o

I still think it would be a good idea to have a warning next to the button at that first step too.

Howrse can be a fast clicking game for some of us and paired together with the awful game lag any delay on that pop up appearing could be disastrous.

I'm really happy that we get a notification when we complete an objective! I've often forgotten to validate a completed objective and lost out on passes and reset my streak. Thanks for this useful update.

seems as though howrse got a little overzealous when deleting all notifications because i lost three unread pm threads overnight. woke up this morning with them gone...

anyone have the same problem?
anyone know how to rectify this (if there is even a way to)?
