I am hoping to come more now that I am on summer break! I saw the chicken coop for shleich at tsc and fell in love with it but didnt get it that time! I was getting into breyer then realized what a waste of money they are! They are cheap, kinda ugly, barely detailed, get smudges easily, expensive, and take up so much space! Made a foal slip for one of my foals along with a bitty blanket! My racetrack is almost done but I still need dirt for it....

they are HIGHLY detailed! I just got Sara Moniet, and at first I didn't see it, but she actually has a bunch of detail! yes they are expensive, but I've seen customs of common models, for over $100! you could make money on them. they are not ugly, they are realistic and very beautiful.
they are not "cheap" you clearly haven't seen most of the vintage models. schliech get scratched easily, so what's wrong with breyer getting smudges easily? is there a schliechfest? no, because they are not as highly detailed, pretty, loved, expensive, shown, or popular as breyer. and there are TONS of different molds, models, AND they are modeled after REAL champion horses.
I collect Breyer, and "play" with Schleich by having a stables for them.

me too. I do have a little stables for my breyer, but I don't play with them. theyre too valuble for that.

I play with my Breyer and Schleich.
By Retired breeder, 26th May 2015 23:03:48
I sort of play with my breyer, but not like I do with my shcliech. with my schliech I make the stallions fight, and stuff like that. with breyer I just like, make the person ride, pet, wash, or showmanship with a horse.
My schleich live on my windowsill and are constantly being taken outside for play. My breyers are heavily protecteddefault smiley xd

Well guys. You know how I was explaining how I want to have a green rug and blue walls for a field or barn scene or whatever if we moved into that house? Well now... I can!! We're finally moving!!! Yes! I can have my Schleich friendly room! default smiley (lol) Now I have to go choose a blue paint, find a rug, and get kitchen cabinet ideas!

I play with my schliech inside, sometimes outside, and I don't really play with my breyers at all. if I do its very carefully, and if one falls over I immediately pick it up and check for scratches. default smiley (lol)
I have an Instagram for my tack shop, and my stables. Tack shop is titanium_saddlery and my stables is starfire_stables

There you can see all of my photos.

I'm hoping to get the classics morgan, classics show jumping set, and Harley D zip because they retire this year

Cool! Well, I guess breyers just aren't my thing, I prefer hardy toys.
By Retired breeder, 27th May 2015 03:32:59
Yes, penguinette23 I agree, Schleich is my favorite! I have almost 200 models! Not only are they highly detailed and beautiful, but they are also great to use for things that would break a breyer.
Also, Schleich is easy to clean of the scratches and customizable. My friend and I found many ways to give them a constant new look.
One tip was painting clear nail polish over their hooves so that they don't' scratch each other or wear down their hooves as easily.default smiley :) It actually works, although we renewed their "hoof polish" every once in a while.
I'd love to hear more tips and give some tips on them!

I also have a few breyer horses. I own the Cloud wold horse herd (Which was from my favorite wild horse documentary), and I have some mini horses. (what are they called again? Not the mini whinnies, though I own some of those as well)

this got long... ok then... default smiley ;)
@horsedreamer those are stablemates!

ok people this topic says Schleich, am i not correct not Breyer so if you want to talk about breyer go and leave this topic alone breyers are not schleich and i love all the schleich people and how much they love schleich and no one said to talk about breyers JoHorseLover725 was only saying 98.9% of the people who loved schleich went to breyer.
By Retired breeder, 27th May 2015 13:24:36
I agree dreamer! I will take that tip! My hooves are always sooo worn out and turn green cause I put them on green diorama grass. Dasie, we were just talking about our personal favorites.

This topic might say Schleich but the players are free to talk about model horses in general whether it's Schleich, Breyer etc. So far this has been a very interesting, enjoyable an enlightnting discussion an I wish to see it kept that way.

I have a 2006 model that they no longer make default smiley :$
I was wondering if there is a web site that lists (or shows) all of the discontinued Schleich models?

I found that quite rude actually. I do both breyer AND schleich that doesn't mean converted to just breyer.
