His show name was I'm a Bad Cat, but everyone who knew him called him Doc. He was a retired rodeo horse and he died of a stroke at the age of 27.

I can't remember which horse I rode first, but my clearest memory of riding when I was young was with a horse named Ljosfari. He's a pale palomino Icelandic horse. He's still alive, and as cute as ever

His name was Cyrano de Bergerac (because of his big nose!) before my mom had him and after, he was just called "Sir" for short. My mom competed with him in dressage for years and he was the first horse my brother and I rode

The first horse I ever seriously rode- as in independently when I was old enough- was named Blaze. She was a Quarter Horse with a steady enough personality for beginner learners.

Does a pony count? If so, the first pony I ever rode was named Pâquerette, and she is still alive and well, and ridden! She also gave birth to my first favorite pony, Nuty!! The first horse I ever rode was named Zack, but he was so in love with my instructor I could never do anything on my own

First horse I rode was called Rhubarb, and he seemed like a lazy giant to me at the time!

Jumbo because he was so huge. (his hooves doubled as manhole covers) He was a 17 or 18 hands half T-bred and half Quarter horse and part traveling sales man. He was chestnut and looked a bit like Secretariat. He had a great sense of humor. And could jump. I know this because he thought trickles of water were rivers and jumped them every time. Sadly he died of laminitis. His replacement Yankee didn't have his sense of humor (well he did suck in his breath so the saddle would be looser but so did Jumbo.) but Jumbo was my first that I rode so he's special.

I think ponies count. Cause I vaguely remember going on a pony ride as a kid. Didn't learn the pony's name though but I do remember it was a black Shetland.
