[Known Issue][May 2025] Ongoing Performance Issues

Thank you to everyone who has reported issues within the game after the maintenance yesterday.

We would like to assure you that we're working to resolve these issues as soon as possible and ask for your continued patience while we continue investigating and applying fixes to the game.

I've listed a few of the most common issues below:
- Game lag,
- Game slowness,
- Delay in receiving password reset emails,
- Delay in receiving verification emails,
- Horse competitions becoming stuck "In progress"

Please know that the above list is not exclusive and is only the most frequent issues being encountered by our players.

Here is a new update on the current situation after the migration:

↪ Emails issue: Good news, the game is finally able to send out emails to almost everyone!
We are still having issues with Yahoo email addresses. The team is on it, but the rest is fine. You should now be able to confirm your email address or reset your password, for example. Please remember to check your spam folders if you haven't received an email in your inbox.

↪ Missing payment methods: The team is still working on getting Xsolla back as soon as possible. However, right now, we cannot guarantee that it will happen before the end of May Packs, unfortunately. Paysafe should arrive even later. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, and we are really sorry about that! Rest assured that the team is doing its best.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it! The detailed amount and content will be finalized by the end of the week. Hopefully, we will be able to send it out next week.

↪ Test servers: The team is still working on it, hopefully they can reopen next week.

The team is also working on other issues, which are less visible to you, affecting our internal tools.

Step by step, things are getting back to normal.

↪ Test servers: Still work in progress and our #1 priority this week since we need to test features for the next update. We hope to be back up and running by the end of the week, but nothing is set in stone.

↪ Missing payment methods: We are still working on getting Xsolla back up. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, especially since May Packs are ending tomorrow. We are really sorry about that! Sadly, we can't guarantee it will be back up before the end of the week.

↪ Global compensation: We are still working on the final details. It will include a variety of items and resources to thank you for your patience during the bumpy migrations.

↪ Performance issues: We noticed an increasing number of reports signaling frequent blank pages, maintenance pages, and other display issues. It seems to affect multiple versions. We are investigating a bit deeper and will provide you with an update next time.

Here is an update on the current situation after the migration.

↪ Performance issues: We are aware that there are still some performance issues, affecting the French servers in particular and also the other versions. This is being investigated as a priority. However, the team still has some difficulties finding the origin of the issues. The metrics we have on our side don't reveal any performance issues, unfortunately.

To help the investigation, we could use more information regarding the issues you encounter:
• On what version?
• If there are specific times you are having issues?
• On what specific pages of the game?
• Screenshots could help as well.

Please share this information with us.

↪ Test servers: The test servers are back up and running (but only for FR, DE, and INT at the moment).

↪ Email issue: Emails should be working for everyone now (but might still land in your Spam folder). Please send a ticket to Support if you still aren't receiving emails.

↪ Missing payment methods: Xsolla is back now and should give you plenty of additional payment options. There is no update regarding Paysafe at the moment, as it isn't our priority.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it, the detailed amount and content have been finalized. The developers will code the script when there is enough bandwidth - hopefully this week, but there is no guarantee.

There are also other issues the team is working on in the background, but things are progressively getting back to normal.

I would love to confirm my email so I can buy the beginner pack. It's incredibly frustrating that I'm trying to give Howrse money so I can play more and I'm unable to.

The performance is definitely better and at least now I can take care of a few horses

Although it did let my meter in the mazes fill up because I couldn't log on, and I missed my pass divines again

I have noticed a significant improvement in overall performance. There’s still some lag if I click on breeding tabs, but for the most part, everything else (speed wise) has gotten much better.

I’ll wait to comment on other issues once that topic is addressed.

I've also noticed an improvement in the performance. I still get the random page refresh when clicking on care buttons. Which is still irritating

I'm still getting lag/reloaded pages when I use care buttons. It's not as bad but still enough to annoy the ever loving daylights out of me. Especially when I'm working nordic, winds, and the like.

I'm still experiencing lots of lag on the classic version.

i timed it and on the FASTEST load time it took about 40 seconds to take care of a horse. which is not a lot, but on mobile it takes me like 15 seconds. at times the load time was so long i just had to fully refresh the page because it was getting stuck trying to load actions.

it definitely loads better if you give it only one thing at a time but that is trying my patience.

I'm unable to buy passes due to it saying I need to verify my email, even though I've already done this and purchased passes in the past... Would love this to be fixed before the May packs are gone!default smiley :(

The lag was a lot better earlier this morning but as the day went on it got slower and slower for me. Hope it is better tomorrow!

game was loading very quickly hours later, i hope it stays this way default smiley :) very unsure of why its so inconsistent.

I do still hope that we are compensated in some way for when the server was completely down.

I would suggest that anyone still having issues should clear cache and cookies. It is good practice to do this after any maintenance. If something is still not working after that you should go to Contact Us. If they don't know about it they can't look at it.

My general ranking still shows no update since May 19th. Is that just me or everyone else seeing that?

Rankings are in the list of other things on a later fix. It was mostly the lag that was tackled by the 28th's maintenance

Well frankly it would be good if they would make the effort to communicate more. They have now had another ticket from me about this. And NO I will not go to discord to see if I can find out more. That should not be necessary.

Again I got two gift UFOs from other players, both gave me the "you missed it" sign and I didn't get any gift. This is the second time in a week that has happened to me.
On the other side, with rankings not working, there are many players (me included) stuck on the 85th objective from the beginner's. I would've unlocked the item exchange yesterday but here we are. I really hope the ranking issue is a priority-ish one to fix, because we can't progress our game.

Unfortunately I'm still stuck playing howrse on mobile because the desktop version simply doesn't work. Can't try to log in without receiving an error message. I definitely missed some of the promo and Ascent of Olympus until I figured out mobile still works. ^^; Looking forward to this being fixed!!

Are you stuck by the cookies pop-up and "you've been inactive too long message"?

I get hit by that everyday on my PC, and I either log in to mobile first, and switch over to classic, or I can also bring up a bookmarked page (such as your profile page, or a horse's page) and login there.

I need to verify my email so that I can purchase the beginner pack. There's a time limit, so I only have a couple days to be able to buy it. It's incredibly frustrating and it's quite heavily impacting my game and making it significantly less fun. If this isn't fixed before my starter pack offer expires, I don't see myself ever giving this game any of my hard earned money, I'm not confident I'd even continue playing the game at all.

Game performance is back to normal for me in US, but the rankings still seem to be messed up, still showing last updates the 19th and are not showing any + or - movement so no updates day before it would seem. But some of the numbers look accurate. Idk.
