Poll

1. How entertaining was the event?

2. How easy was it to understand the event?

3. How easy was it to progress in the event?

4. Are you satisfied with the gifts you received?

5. How visually appealing was the event?

This event went very well for me, I only bought 5 packs total and got duplicates of several prizes. I like the cards event in general. However, after seeing discussions in the event threads I was surprised to discover that many people were getting no diamond cards or only got one throughout the event, and despite spending more than I did were unable to complete the event.

I was even more surprised to find out that the 15 year horse was free upon login. I know this is a for profit website and such is the way of things but it is very disappointing to learn of this. People spent hundreds, some maybe even more without getting something that was free five years ago. That’s not a celebration, that is a slap in the face.

This event has always been the epitome of, it's great if your luck's great, terrible if your luck's terrible. It's the least desirable event to have to release the 20th anniversary divine in. Was it possible to get it without spending passes? Theoretically yes, and many players did get it without spending passes. But other players did have to spend passes, some spending over a thousand, and due to bad luck they didn't get the cards they needed.

Quindecim was not only pass free, but incredibly easy to get. If Viginti required a little more effort to get, then fine, but he could have been placed in an event that wasn't 100% luck based.

Personally speaking, I had good luck and the event went well for me. I got every card possible without spending passes, but I really wish Viginti had not been in this event.

All of this!

The prize pool was nice (very nice! hip hip hooray for Petit!), but boy is this event aleatory. Making this the anniversary event was just sad.

The event went well for me. I did buy one pack of cards out of curiosity the first discount weekend, got a gold and a diamond in it which was nice but in the end I didn't really need them although the duplicate T staff was appreciated.

Flash sales as usual were an absolute waste of time. I can't spend my life hanging around for hours to get nothing. I took no part in them at all.

Viginti was a big disappointment. Some players couldn't get one due to bad luck and others spent millions of equus and got two only to find one was completely worthless.

Compared to the 15 year celebrations I felt this was a let down and although I won excellent prizes it didn't really feel like a true celebration of anything. default smiley :(

I am sad that I almost got no Gold cards at all. Couldn't even complete most series, so no Falabella or Anniversery Divine for me.

The event cost equus and since I don’t sale horses anymore I don’t have any or very little colored tack. I had to spend over 100,000 equus but got the 4 top prizes as well. I won another petitdefault smiley (l) got a second ow. I didn’t spend any passes.

My only complaint after you get the main divine or all cards for level you have the option activating cards in the puzzle and getting second big prize like I won the second ow or activating it to get one of the smaller prizes.

158 pages of Viginti and 227 of Quindecim (not even accounting for deleted accounts the past 5 years, so there used to be even more Quindecim’s!)… Just shows how difficult Viginti was to get for some players vs Quindecim. I managed to get him last minute without spending passes, but the forum is full of players spending 1k+ passed who STILL didn’t get him.

He never should have been placed in a luck-based event, and the lackluster 20th birthday celebration just shows that Howrse doesn’t care about its players anymore, just money default smiley (o) no wonder there are less players online compared to years ago

The prizes were great. Diamond and gold cards were a bit on the rare side, especially jokers, so had to buy quite a few packs just to get those earlier.

But once all the cards were found, I was disappointed that we are unable to exchange cards. I received a lot of duplicate puzzle cards and I would have gladly paid equus to trade them for a chance of a prize card, or trade for a different duplicate that I really needed to complete a puzzle again.

it should NOT have been this hard to get Viginti. took me over 2600 passes to get him and still technically never got all of the diamond cards. there were 2 I never got but luckily I had extra staffs and was able to trade. yesterday I still had one staff to trade for the last diamond this morning and got one of the ones I got from trading the staffs so was able to keep the staff and trade the duplicate. and the ONLY reason I had 2600+ passes was Quindecim.

what they should have done is have him in the promo but on the 8th everyone playing that day was able to do something like they did with Quindecim and get him for FREE. but he was only FREE on the 8th just like quindecim. if you couldn't get on on the 8th the promo would give you more opportunity to get him but it probably wouldn't be free. I know a lot of people missed out on Quindecim cause they couldn't get on on 9/8/20

I was just one gold card short from completing the event. I tried to buy the last card in the flash sales, but didn't get the final card in time. It was frustrating because I was SO close, being one card short. default smiley :(

Some suggestions for future card events:
- For direct sales, please make them available to the individual player, rather than all players competing for it (I clicked the purchase button as soon as it became available, but was advised another player beat me to it).
- Please give more chances for players to get cards they don't already have. Near the end of the event, I had so many duplicates of bronze and silver cards, with little to no chance of getting the gold or diamond cards I needed to complete the event.

I was so disappointed. I spent 285 passes in hopes to get the last diamond card which would complete the event, win me Viginti, and get all diamond cards. I never received the last diamond card and because passes are somewhat precious I gave up. So so disappointing!!

Overall, even with passes spent, I’m pleased with this event. The prize pool was mediocre for the lower levels, but I walked away with multiples of the Gold level BMI.
The card designs were nice blasts from the pasts, or at least well done.

A few cons: Viginti being the main prize, was great for those who had good luck. But if you had very good luck and won 2, or had poor luck and didn’t get him at all, it seemed useless. The whole luck of the draw per player is pretty poor.
My honest opinion is that each player should get the exact same cards, just on a different rotation. That way everyone actually has a fair chance of winning, limiting factors would be not logging on, or not completing daily actions, and you still may have people who don’t win the main prize. But AT LEAST everyone would have an even chance at it.

Secondly, regarding the main prize, since he is a useless divine to have multiples of, you shouldn’t have been able to win him more than once. Either replace him with a second Petit or different Falabella, or replace him with fragments for Fireworks. Since Howrse making money is the clear main objective these days, if would make it somewhat more worthwhile for people to have a different divine that isn’t rendered useless if it’s a copy.

My last sort of con, is the sales. Holy cow, those are competitive, which makes me think there are not enough cards being sold at the same time. Last time this event was played, by the end, those were slowing down and people had a chance to buy cards, this time I found it to be a mad house for the length of the event. I didn’t even get to Silver Joker level, cause the competition for even bronze and silver cards was outrageous.

Overall, for less than 1300p I ended up with ~4000p worth of stuff, without including Viginti and Fireworks since their worth is harder to gauge. You can take a guess with Fireworks based off the average number of fragments you can get per event and then the cost of crowns, but without knowing his drop rate his pay back worth is a unknown for me. I suppose you can claim Viginti’s yearly worth is easy to figure, but you know he would have cost much more in a luck item so his actual value is not perfectly clear either.

Joker packs and guaranteed dimond card in every 6th pack bought should've been present.

Howrse promised extended celebration a week ago and then ghosted us for good. No codes, nothing. Uh oh, howrse, you made an oopsie

Dont care about xards being luck based. I completed it swiftly as always, but I'm very lucky in general when it comes to games. What I do care about is birthday exclusive divine being the main prize when you can't guarantee it even when paying passes

I managed to complete my card collections & get Viginti but it was quite anxiety inducing…
I still never got the diamond card for the staff. I did buy some cards during this last weekend and I participated in 1 or 2 auctions and 1 direct sale…
I feel awful for all the players who couldn’t collect all the cards and didn’t get Vig….
I scratched a total of 132 cards - 65 Bronze / 47 Silver / 14 Gold / & 6 Diamond…
I think we get far too many duplicate cards & only being able to trade 1 card a day is rough!
Then the fact that we can no longer trade duplicate cards once we’ve collected all the cards for that type really bums me out too… it’d have been nice if we could continue trading them for the possibility of extra prizes…
I like the cards event but it’s far from a favorite… I did LOVE the artwork though!!

I was lucky to win all but one of the main prizes. That being said, this was kind of a lackluster event for a 20th anniversary.

The new divine only gives the passes if both objectives are met which means it’s possible not to get it every day as you could have to birth a unicorn and swap it for selling something for more than 10k but have no friends or no hesita and you’re out of luck. At least the first one gave passes for one.

I like the card event cause its easy to understand and not time consuming.
But I never like the daily task "Win a competition" in any event. On some days, you are just unlucky and it takes ages.

I didnt buy any extra cards and got Viginti and every other card ingame for free. So I am very happy with the outcome!

But I see why others complain, some people did not get every card. Whereas some got multiple gold and diamonds. Its not a fair gameplay.
In the end, when you cant trade any card of a certain rarity cause you own all, you should be able to trade them if you want to. I got so many useless picture cards multiple times and would surely prefer BMI items or store items.

I feel like I had really good luck this time around, I won Viginti about a week ago and got 3 x and 4x of some of the top prize cards. I only bought one card pack.

I feel like I prefer events that you can interact with more (ie the last event where the meters refill every few hours) instead of just getting 4 cards in the morning and then being done with the event for the day, but I can't really complain too much considering that I had very good luck and walked away with a lot of worthwhile prizes. I do feel very bad for people who spent a lot of money / passes and couldn't get Viginti.

I was scared away from the flash sales because I kept hearing how competitive they were. From hearing the perspectives of other players, I feel as though Viginti should have been easier to win (considering he was the 20th anniversary Divine).

I'm someone that really lucked out and got tons of golds and diamonds, even without buying the packs. But I'm also someone that has been on the other end and barely got any in previous versions. Some rebalancing needs to be done, it shouldn't be that some of us get very lucky and get way more than we need, while others struggle just to finish.

Another negative point was the decision to add a divine that is useless to own duplicates of. I ended up with six because I opened tons of packs for the prizes, yet five are useless and will just sit there. Honestly not great for a promo that, at least for a few rounds, has allowed us to get multiple copies of the puzzle divine and have them actually be useful when owning multiple.

On the positive side, there were some actually decent prizes, The Petit, crown, staff, fleece, and harmony were all great prizes. I also really enjoyed getting lots of phanes eggs for my draft unicorn breeding project that will start soon.

Overall, some good prizes, but it was let down due to making duplicate copies of the prize divine have no value and also just how unbalanced it was between players.

I'll give it a 7/10.

It was indeed an insult to make us work for the prize we should have been gifted. Another insult to make it less beneficial than the one we were freely given five years ago. More work for less reward? That is not fun, and not worth playing for.

I really like these types of games, but there were too many repeat cards, too little chances to trade, I never buy cards because I always get cards I already have, that do me no good.

Spent an absurd amount of passes only to fall one diamond card short of the divine. P*ssed off to the point of considering taking a long, long hiatus from the game. It has become exceedingly clear Howrse does not respect its players in the slightest.
