Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Noko GP isn't great, unfortunately.
By Retired breeder, 4th November 2016 15:23:56
that's unfortunate. Although I kind of want to try something I haven't done before, so I guess it's not too big of a deal.
Twi I'm good! I had a baby 7 months ago, he keeps me on my toes.

Not a whole lot of crossing for me lately

Nokota GP is good, it's about 7200+, but the public GP isn't. It's better than it was a few months ago where the best available was 2000-3000 below the top Nokotas, but now it's only about 1000 belowdefault smiley (lol)

I ended up buying the highest GP I could find to start a line of purebreds I can use for cross breeding. I'm going slow with it, but the public GP moves just as slow, so it's not too bad.

Yeah. I realized it went up when I got the covering for my Noko/Appy. Was a bit surprised, because if I recall correctly, the Noko groups have always been stingy with public GP. It's why I don't do Nokos very often.

So, I picked up a 6350 GP Mustang mare with an MA and Tears and ended up with The Foundry. Will replace my current #1 speed Noko and let me start a line of Noko/Stangs parallel to my Noko/Appies, which will start with Car Crash and Anonymous.
I have a 6800 GP 100 BLUP purebred Nokota stud who is available for covers default smiley :)

Can you send covers to Fire And Ice and Call Out My Name, please? 6800 would be a huge improvement for me to use.
@Khaotic Rain -
covers sent default smiley :)

I have a couple of extra colts from the TB x Paint crosses if anyone could use them. Otherwise they'll just end up in my skills tab default smiley ;). They're not teared, but they have good IBS (over 1400) and good GP (over 7100).

This one will throw Paint foals on another 50x50 cross that doesn't have TB.

Has anyone tried a blend of Baroque horses, just for fun? It might make an interesting 4-way cross project (PSH-Lusitano-Friesian-Lipizzan). I'm think of trying it out, just for fun.

I don't have any Lipizzans or Lipizzan crosses yet though.

Does anyone have high GP studs or sales of any of these 50/50 crosses?
Lipizzan x PSH
Lipizzan x Lusi
Lipizzan x Friesian

Thanks!

Does anyone know if any of the top Paint teams are cross friendly?
I expect a Baroque 4-way would have the following dominance of skills. Thoughts?

1) Dressage (very strong)
2) Gallop
3) Trot
4) Speed ~/= Stamina
5) Jump (very low)

My spreadsheet freaked out on me, but I don't think my equations got messed up.
Anyway, with that mix stamina will be your 3rd best skill followed by speed and trot pretty similar, and then jump. So it'll have a reining skill set

I think Dutchman is, but I'd ask equestrienne1979 or Horsebabe91 to confirm. I only assume yes as I have been allowed to get top Paint GPs for projects.

Fiv - Yes please. I would love to know what you find out about Paint covers.
Legacy Ann, I love that you have a spreadsheet for this. default smiley ;)default smiley (y)
