Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

United As One has all the light horse and pony breeds in her bloodlines. In the first couple generations I named the horses with the breeds that they had so you only have to go back a couple generations really to check them out(keep in mind that only 5 breeds will show in the genetics tab)

Does a four way cross take the breed of the father's dam? Or the dam's hidden breed? I get confused with these things...

Anyone know where I might be able to get a high GP Selle cover to breed a higher GP version of this guy that I bred?

@EmeralsShards: I have one with 6500+ GP.
I have about 4 purebred appy mares with 6630+ GP...

feel free to PM me if you want a foal! (foal's can *not* be a speed dominant horse)
I also have 70 BLUP appy studs that can offer covers...mares can not be speed dominant horses...and no purebred appies
I have an appy stud with 6646 GP that is 100 BLUP

also, feel free to send a reminder PM every day until I actually get around to breeding a foal default smiley xd
I've got a horrible memory when it comes to things like this...

Tragic in the Fallout

I would love some feedback on this guy. My goal was to increase Gallop.

Hola crossbreeder community!

I am just getting started, but wanted to see who else has any overlap with my crossbreeding goals and if there's any interest in working on any of them together.

Sooooo.... anyone else working on breeding unofficial Howrse crossbreeds? I just want to have fun with it. Want to work seriously, but not competitively. They don't have to be out of the highest stock skillers out there, but I'd still like them to be somewhat impressive. default smiley ;)

I'm particularly interested in:

1. Appendix Quarter Horse (QH x TB)
2. Azteca (QH x Lusitano / PSH)
3. Warlander (Friesian x PSH / Lusitano)
4. Nez Perce (Appaloosa x Akhal-Teke)
5. Pony of the Americas (Appaloosa x Shetland)

I'm also interested in several Arabian crossbreeds (maybe Welara, Pintabian, Quarab, Morab, Anglo-Arabian).

Also trying to figure out if there's any reasonable way to play with crossbreeding for Colonial Spanish Horses (or Spanish Mustangs, Horse of the Americas, Sorraia Mustang, Galiceno, etc.)

...or American Cream Draft, Irish Draught, Cleveland Bay, Dales Pony, and/or Fell Pony.

Lots of things, I know. default smiley (a)

Give a shout if you're interested in working together or want to trade.

I look forward to getting to know the group a bit better. ^_^ Thanks!

@Fivinyn784. I'm interested. Quarter and Throughbred combos make a powerful gallop competitor, as do thoroughbred, Appaloosa, quarter, paint combos.

Anyone have any suggestions for my project? I have an young appaloosa with about 1000 gp and 100 blup. When she breeds, should she breed with a high kwpn or slightly lower gp thoroughbred? I need to blupp their foal and that foal would either be a good galloper or a good jumper.
default smiley ^) I'm getting a few stock skillers started for my various projects. Am already getting buddies for Morab, Quarab, and Appendix programs - thanks guys!

Hey, group question... How come we can't cross draft horses with riding horses?

There are tons of breeds that had significant draft contributions. I'd love to see Howrse give more draft breeds and give us more freedom with them. Is there any existing conversation on this yet? Can we start some sort of petition for it? default smiley ;)

What is cross feeding? Is it to like get higher GP or get another breed? And would a every horse breed on here be rare and worth a lot?

^ It depends what the general goal of that person is. Some people mix breeds to get horses that are really good at certain comps/win rosettes. Others like to take a horse and change its skill set by mixing it with other horses. It varies really. That's the fun of it! You can pick your goal and just experiment around. default smiley :)
As for your other question, they're not rare at all. You can mix any two different breed together to get a crossbred. As for price, probably only rosette winners cost a lot but to be fair ALL rosette winners (crossbred or not) go for a lot.

@Fivinyn: That's just how it is. But there is not an active conversation that I'm aware of. You could try suggesting it to "Contact Us" but they probably won't listen.

There is another draft breed coming. You can't breed with regular riding horses but y'know. Check in the spoiler topic for more details default smiley :)

I think a part of the issue is that Howrse does not really associate crossbreds on here with the real life crossbreds you commonly see - for example, a Morab is not a "recognized" crossbred on here, but rather just a mix of Morgan and Arab.

I'd love to be able to cross with Drafts as well, since the amount of Draft breeds on here (or lack thereof) does not really allow for some interesting experiments. Unfortunately that's just one of the many mysteries of Howrse, but hopefully we'll be able to interbreed with Drafts sometime in the near future.

I've recently started up a project called Crossing Lines, where I hope to eventually help new players out by giving them crossed skillers. It's weeks away from being ready in my opinion, but I'd like some unbiased opinions on the crosses I'm using. As in would you buy them? What do you think of their skills? What do you think of their GP? And so on...

Anyone have a stud where the dominant breed is 50% or less and its top skills are jumping, gallop, and dressage? I'm looking for a cover. High GP is preferable. (It's fine if it isn't blupped yet. I haven't even started blupping the dam default smiley (d)) Thanks!
