Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

thank you, yraeta
I have this VERY nice Arab x TB I just bred that is now available for adoption. His IBS came out fantastic for non-teared. He's going to make a very nice Barrel & Reining horse, and he'll do well in WP if you leave trot untrained and beached down.

He has Arabian listed second in the breed order, so on a 4-way cross of 4 different breeds (25%) the foal will come out Arab.

He's boarded in a shower/trough forrest EC and he has Studs on him that boost Gallop.

want to try an experiment with me? I will send you a fertility wand and a covering for lady Elizabeth pm me if you are interested.

You can easily predict what you're going to get before you ever breed with a little math. The foal gets exactly 50% from each parent. SO, look at the genetics tab of sire and dam. Write down the numbers for each skill or copy and paste them in a document. Then add the sire & dam's numbers together and divide by 2 to get an idea of what the foal will be.

Because I'm a computer nerd, I used Excel. If you don't have excel, you can use Google Drive's spreadsheets or openoffice.org. That way you let the program do the math for you with the AVE function default smiley ;).

So you can see the actual foal turned out as expected with the built in gains from breeding two 100 BLUP parents.

I have made a public spreadsheet anyone can use on google docs for this very purpose.

It's here.

You type in the GP of each skill for both the dam and sire in the table and it calculates the average for you.

Trying to figure out what to crossbreed them to. Hehe. default smiley :p

Got my foals!

Stardom
Shooting Star

I might crossbreed the two out of curiosity afterwards; simply to see what the foal's skill set looks like. Either way, the fee will only be 100 equus and a couple of APs to test, so I have nothing to lose. default smiley xd

Oh I like how those turned out default smiley (y)

Pretty decent little horse! default smiley ^)

Might try a couple of other crosses while I'm at it; I'm probably going to try for a horse that's really good at dressage. default smiley :)

She is beautiful.
Has a horse with at least 1,000 in each skill been bred yet? I've been working on calculating future foals skills and I've gotten a foal with 1,000 in all skills except for trot. I'm just wondering if it's possible to breed a horse with 1,000 in each skill.

1000 in each skill, or 1000 in each GP? The latter hasn't been done yet to my knowledge, though I've been running calculations all the time as GP increases and have been getting close. If you mean skills, then that should be possible since I've gotten close to finding out breed combos for 1,000 in each GP. I haven't seen one yet myself though I don't thinkdefault smiley :)
