Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Does anyone have a horse that's highest gp is in trot and has at least 800 in the other categories? Male or female. It's for a future breeding project.

would it be worth it to skill a horse with 6285.03 GP and 1921.33 IBS?

(almost fully skill...just not fully clouded...since I don't have 5 passes or 20x PoC)

That really depends on you and what you think...

(I personally would, but everyone's different. If it's a mare I want to breed from, I also might just blup her, breed her, and then skill the offspring.)

Wow nice foal
Has anyone here dabbled in Classical Highland Ponies? Since one of the pinata objectives requires a color coat to be placed, I thought I'd breed a cross to put a particular pony coat on that I've had my eye on for awhile. I was curious about whether there are a lot of classical Highland breed comps available, and don't want to use that breed if there's only a small handful.

Ah, I changed my mind.default smiley (lol) What about comps for Newfoundlands? They don't have a skill set to match a competition, so that would be a fun one to cross with. I can't check out available comps for any of the pony breeds I'd like to use as they've all got really low GP, which just skews the amount of results.

They may have thought it to be advertising since you were mentioning that there was a twin that would be bmi'd if anyone was interested
I'm not the only one who says so, but I guess I'll just have him collect dust foreverdefault smiley :)

In any case, good news. I was able to get wins on all my current crosses. Well, the 8 that I work at a time. Maybe in a month I'll be breeding the mares. I'm hoping to move my 3200 average in GP up to the 4000s. Slowly but steadily lol

I breed each mare twice. Once to raise their top skills, once to raise their lowest skills.

Oi...I almost fell on my face. That was entertaining lol

I know they are not able to catch them all but chin updefault smiley :)
I umh...got inspired...I've had this mare just sitting around so umh...I'll try a Gyp. next time. I had planned to breed her to an Arab/Gyp but couldn't find one.

Hello,

I am breeding selle x KW crosses. I have both parents at 100 BLUP + fully bolded but the skillers are barely breaking 1900. I see other people breeding their selle x KW skillers that have lower GP than mine and the parents' skills didnt match up to mine at all. What am I doing wrong? Thank!

If you're using Blupped and high GP parents, then you'll need to use A.Tears for even higher IBS. This is a nifty Howrse GP calculator that also does IBS and total skills if you want to see a foal's IBS range beforehand. Keep in mind that there is a small random factor as well, so you won't necessarily get the same IBS with each breeding of the same parents
