Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Got all training and wins for Bound for Glory. Now he just has to hit 10 years old.
By Retired breeder, 30th April 2016 21:07:45
what do you think about Glory of Fire to breed with Bound for Glory ?

I mean, you'll probably get the same or a very similar to both parents since they're, in essence, the same cross.

was hoping to increase skills if I broke down and purchased the tears with equus at least. What do you think would be a good mix in? KWPN? Mawari? or Selle Fran? (lol sorry forgot how to spell the last part of the selle's name)

Depends what you're wanting to improve.

Hey all, is there any way I can narrow my searches for cross foals in the auctions/direct sales? Im looking to buy a ton of higher GP ones and clear out some of my old ones.

Thanks in advance default smiley (l)

Filter by above the GP you want and above the skills you want, then under more criteria, double click on the check mark next to the Pure Breed criteria.

You'll want to avoid KWPNs unless it's diluted in a cross. Their stamina is wretched

Looking to get higher skills altogether. Not necessarily looking to raise or lower any in particular. Trying to create my own skiller I want to win rosettes and possible even at least get closer to winning the grand prix.
If you're looking to win rosettes I'd focus on the horse's top 3 skills, so I'd try going for a reining horse if you're wanting to build off of one or both of those horses you posted. Of the three reining skill set horses on the game a Lipizzan cross would probably be your best bet since their GP is higher than the other two. Or easiest to get in sales and covers at any rate.

So I would check out where the top Lipizzans are at in their stamina, gallop and dressage skills, then work on breeding a cross that will be competitive with that mark
And...that description now sounds really vague and unhelpful. Good job medefault smiley (lol)

That is helpful. It gives me a place to start. Bound for Glory seems to be best at Barrel racing than reining though. Lol

Would it hurt the skills if the GP of the mare is a few hundred under the GP of the Stallion

Breeding a pair with the GPs so far between each other will likely produce a foal with GP in the middle of the two, which means it won't improve in ways of GP and will have lower IBS in comparison to a foal with higher GP.

Since his speed is low he can see lower difficulty barrel races. If you're wanting rosettes though he'll have to be high in all three skills needed for that comp in order to win. Although... you could try to work it so your final foal will have insanely high gallop and stamina, but only enough speed to see barrel rosettes. It works for my Ocean once in a while, but I don't think non-divines are capable yet of the skills proportions he sometimes gets, so I'm not sure how far you'd progress with the current GP stats on the game. Be a fun project though

OK perhaps another cross? With higher GP and similar skill set?
By Retired breeder, 30th April 2016 23:57:32
I was thinking half brother and sister bred together since similar skills set Wii bring GP and skills higher for rosettes, but may just cancel each other out too.
Sigh...that talk of all GP stats over 1000 has got me doing calculations on my spreadsheet till my eyes are crossed. I wanted to see how close you could get to that goal with the current top GPs on the game and I've actually gotten quite close. However, the breeds with the skill sets I need just aren't high enough yet to help balance things out. Either that, or there just aren't enough high trot breeds in the game. At least not trot breeds with good all round GP. The Paso is currently the only 4-way trotting breed.

But since the GPs I've been testing are horses at number 10 for their breeds I wouldn't have access to those coverings anywaydefault smiley xd

Aged her up to 2 years so far let me know what you all think.

Glory of Fire

The only way to win the GP is by working with the top tier teams and creating a super cross. It was done a few times last year with the top QH and Top Wari teams to make a super Reining horse, before Lippis took over.

For a Rosette horse in reining, you need more Gallop. I would try a Lippi x QH cross bred to Bound for Glory since that one has the higher GP. Beach your skiller for Gallop.

@equestrienne1979 Thank you for the suggestion. I will see if I can find a good mare of that cross. The top teams would probably want passes which I am a non pass buyer. I believe it can be done it will just take a lot more hard work and lot more time than just jumping to the top teams to do it. LOL only thing about being divorced the money sucks default smiley (lol)
