Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I want a foal. I can pay a pass for a teared foal. Since I need some new breeds to mix into my little pot of Crossbreeds.

Mew. I am thinking of mixing my Gypsy cross with a TB. Should I? I want to do well in X country, soooo....

Hey there, everyone! So I've noticed that in my experience arabian horses make amazing western pleasure winners. Mine, Rainy, is doing pretty snazzy. I was just wondering; what western comps do thoroughbreds, KWPNs and appaloosas seem to excel at? default smiley 8-)

Depends on what they're crossed with. Majority of Western comps use Stamina (the only exception is Trail Class). TBs and Appies will probably do decently in Barrel since they both have speed and gallop. KWPNs will likely do okay in Reining or Western Pleasure.

How much do you want for her mom?
My newest baby! Decided to add in some TB to get a GP and gallop boost.

Baby Girl

Might add in some Marwari down the line, to keep both speed and stamina up before breeding to a Trake from my team to have another nice Trake baby. I might skill her tomorrow, and put a nice new coat on her too!

Starry, I got a question for you. How do you think Lord Arygon and a thoroughbred/gypsy vanner cross would do

Hmm. Would I be able to see the TB/GV cross in question? Just from generic TB and GV skillsets, I think that you would get something with a fairly balanced skillset at the top? Ah it's hard to explain but-

Right off the bat TB and GV kind of neutralize each other. TBs have high speed and gallop, GVs have high stamina and jump. So based on how that lays out, you might end up with either speed or stamina being one of the top 3 skills, and then jump or gallop. I think dressage will definitely be high, and trot will stay very low. But the top 4 skills (stamina, speed, gallop, and jumping) I would think would be a bit closer to each other than perhaps normally.

I haven't tried the vanner thoroughbred cross yet. Am planning to, just have to see which of my vanner mares are at least close to my thoroughbred stallion in gp

Ahh, okay. But yeah definitely 5 skills will be up there and then trot will be down low. I've muddled up Speed and Stamina as well with him because I was going for the Trake Speed board when making him. It'll definitely be an interesting cross though, just message me if you want a cover! default smiley (y)

......I remember now why I used Chincos and not Marwaris in the first place- None of the Marwari teams with decent GP offer covers *sighs*

Anyone know of a horse or pony breed other than Marwaris with high speed and stamina, preferably with high gallop or jumping as well?
