Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Anyone know who has the most crossed horse? Really curious.
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2016 00:48:50
A little more Lusi skill added to a Friesian would be the best for dressage if that's what you're looking for default smiley (y)

As in most crossed breeds or number of crossbred horses?

will eventually add lippi, anything else though?

I'd try moonrider.

Morgan 16

This is the one that has the most at the moment. He's part of my All Breed project.

World's Finale

This is the finished product of my All American. I'd have to go back and look in its tree to get the exact number. The reason it's breed percentage is mostly Morgan is because that's how I wanted it to be.

If you're looking to boost trot, I would add some Fry in to keep dressage up. You could also add in some Lipi to get gallop up there while keeping dress up but that would tank your trot. Just depends on which skill you're more interested in in increasing.

Working on getting a KWPN skiller. First foal out of my mare has 5801.53 GP. I'm looking to get closer to what the top GP is. Want to try and get up there on the elite rank! So selling that one and going to try for a mare to once again BLUP and try again. There is a small bit of Gypsy Vanner in these horses but I can't seem to find good Gypsy covers...

Are you looking for pure Gypsies? There's tons in the public covers if you sort from highest to least GP.

Hey thoughts on a GVxArab Dom cross?

IMHO it'd be kind of pointless. They have the same skill set but Gypsies are better. And unless you were able to get a top Arab cross, I'm not sure how well you'd do against Arabs in breed only since their sales release is kind of low last I checked

Haflinger/Australian Pony (50/50)
The Great Cloud

The skill set is very interesting to me default smiley 8-)
In Order From Best to Worst Skill

Jumping
Dressage
Gallop
Stamina
Speed
Trot

I have not seen this skill set before default smiley :)

Maybe consider going for a skillset other than cross-country?
I think I made a gallop racing arabian once, but it seems to no longer exist in the game.
Anyone have experience with Brumby crosses?

I would probably cross an arab to have very high speed and dressage rather than stam, so that it would be good in all three gallop trot and jump
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2016 06:54:03

I have a few brumby x's and have found they do fairly well and I'm not even trying lol. I have a bit of breeding stock you could use if you wanted, just for a start.
Comped 6 crosses in 2 nights, from 0-20 wins. I retire a filler tomorrow night. I have no more Booster crosses to comp for a while. I feel accomplished. default smiley xd

As usual, expected foals will be a TB cross and QH cross of some sort, though if the mares are bred or not I don't know. But, since I finished all 8 of my current crosses (I bold 8 at a time), I can breed some mares again on Sunday.

Does anyone know of any good Welshie covers? I'm looking for the highest Stamina I can get. My latest task for SHIELD is to dominate the Wels board for Stamina since we've taken over the Barb board.

Check out of the cross breeder team friendly link that was posted a while back

Thinking of maybe making a western comp Arab... I remember long ago someone had some good reining Arabs before GVs took over for a while

If you breed the Arab to a breed that does gallop races (i.e. Paint, Thorougbred, Appy) Ot should work.
