Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Problem is I need to bold her top 3 skills which are, surprise surprise, Dressage, Stamina, and Gallop so pretty much worthless. I have gotten 1 win from SJ so far though, so I guess she's not incredibly horible.

So when your done with Speed training go right to Gallop comps. After gains are no more, train in stamina and do CC comps.
Thank you so much shiannes. You've been a lot of help.

Let me know if that doesn't work. I could probably use my filler that couldn't compete against my own horse for some reason.
By Retired breeder, 29th December 2011 04:59:45
Dressage/Stamina/Gallop isn't so bad. I deal with Stamina/Speed/Gallop all the time. You just need to train in speed/dressage and enter gallop and xc comps. I wouldn't recommend training in stamina, though - xc comp levels are determined by the horse's stamina, so the higher the stamina the higher the comp level.
I don't have any fillers, so BLUPping is slightly frustrating.

Tomorrow's skill project. Just got my 6th pass for my Nyx, so I'm all set to go. Still need a few clouds, but those will come in eventually. I'm so excited to finally get to work him!

back yall!
plus i may not be posting again until the 2nd, i hope my EQ stays okay till then lol, anyways

Elmer
his older sis is better but then again i think the stud i bred her to had higher GP, and she had Atears
nevertheless:
a) should i keep him as a future stud or is his GP too low?
b) should i give ellie a stone? her babies are pretty decent and i have a stone kicking around so should i give it to her or wait and give it to another horse? (buying them isn;t that much toruble because i dont mind dropping 100grand for a stone when i have the money)
I've found that Chimira's Gift is actually great at trot races at the moment so I'm going to try to get the 20 wins he need through the trot races then focus on what he needs to bold.

Any time I have a horse that pops up as stamina dressage and anything besides jump, I train in dressage, speed and jump (since they added skill gain in jump from XC, and jump is a secondary for XC). If a horse is speed, stamina, dressage, I might train gallop instead and enter barrels. With the skill gain from jump added to XC, you don't even have to do jump comps, you just have to do XC and whatever race is need for the other skill.
RayDay.....1hr short gallop rides/dressage comps/ gallop and dressage training which will bold gallop and dressage, then long trot rides/ XC comps/ stamina training to bold and hopefully blup....

Who was asking for a trekie cross stud - I've got a trek/ Lusi cross which I'll blup this weekend since I have 2 days off work yay!!

I have a few crossbreeds that are quite odd. Some have over four breeds in them. I'm not sure what I should do with the or weather they will ever be any good. If some one could PM me with advice that would be terrific. default smiley :) I don't back into the forums generally so if you could take the time to PM it would help me soo much more than trying to post back here.

Thanks again default smiley :)

Horsebabe I'll take a covering! He's a fantastic cross! default smiley :)

Anyways, I'm waiting on a truckload of aging points to come in from the North Pole so I can finish Beats by Dre and start on Microsowft Word. Then, when those are both done, I am going to BLUP an immortal Paint foal that I picked up. His IBS are awful but his GP isn't that bad, so I'm going to use him as a public stud to make a little extra cash default smiley xd
