Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I love this post! I'm so close to being able to trade horses with friends so there will be a pretty good number of crosses soon! My appy mare is pure breed but the crosses shes has been puting out lately are fantistic! just some thing I learned even the non-special horses can make amazing ofspring.
Okay guys: Anyone wanna have a BLUPing party? default smiley xd

cinderblaze I have been breeding Lustanos and Tb's to my Arabs and I wuld have to say that the Lusitano would be a better choice for dressage and trotting, but the TB for stamina!
By Retired breeder, 30th November 2011 20:09:58
Hey try to breed Hold On To Heaven with a paint! They have great stamina.
@Sparky2133 That is a great stud colt! After you train him let me know I will maybe wat a covering!

Hey I need help deciding what breed to breed This Mare with. I want the foal to be good at dressage, maybe racing....
By Retired breeder, 30th November 2011 20:40:47

By Retired breeder, 30th November 2011 22:32:03
Before I got rid of Crazy by Midnight, I bred her to a Quarter Horse, the highest I could find. I got a beautiful Flaxen Chestnut Quarter Horse filly. She is in my horses now, in my Dynasty Royal affix. When she is blupped, what should I breed her to?
Lake it does depend on what you want out the foal. If you want good speed go for paint, dressage try Lusi etc etc
Just bred this, can't wait til I can BLUP her but shall have to wait until after the weekend I think as I am in Switzerland all weekend for CERN default smiley :d just a lil excited default smiley *-)

I always look at what stars my horses lack in. Say the dress stars are around 30 but your speed is only 10 stars. Find a breed that has a high number of stars in speed and breed, always use a hera pack to get the most skills. Then breed another different dam and sire, so you dont have brothers and sisters, then train the new babies to the max and breed the two you have, no paying for a covering or anything and remember to use that hera pack, always look for high stars if you do do a covering, but try not to cover brothers and sisters, moms and babies, it seems when that is done the gp goes down. This seems to work good for me
I don't have pass access (I got some for my b-day but only have 6 left) and I also have 1 Hera Pack from the lotto but...yeahdefault smiley xd saving it for that one special foaldefault smiley ;)

Also Its always good to put the water of youth on any horse, for got to say that Nyx packs are good because of the cro timer and mor arms, but you can always find a way to trade for these items if need be, even if you dont have a hera pack as long as you use afrod tears so the foal gets 50/50 from each parent, the hera pack is just nice because you get twins, keep one sale one up to you, but dont rush, best thing to do is play one day at a time and think of what you can do better

what should I do with the one pass I just got?!
By Retired breeder, 1st December 2011 01:41:26
Actually, inbreeding has no negative effect on GP, there is a +/-4% modifier when you breed, which at higher GP can make a huge difference. The current number 1 ranked RDH, a cross, has very recent inbreeding to balance breed percentages. I crossed a daughter back to her sire until I got the mother for the Don cross. And a lot of the top breeders will breed a pair of twins, bolt one, BLUP them and breed them together, it's how they improve GP quickly.

And you don't really need all those items. If both parents are 100 BLUP, then all you really need is Tears to maximize inborn skills, and maybe a Wand if you want two foals. For training, at a minimum I would recommend a Timer, but I have trained tons without any BMs. I save BM Items for skillors or my Grand Prix team, all others are lucky to get a seahorse (I have peggy account, so it's more if I remember).

You can personally choose not to inbreed, but there is no real in game reason not to.

But, then, I started off with Friesians, where a Hera Pack is pretty much a waste, since they only come in one color.

Wow Rhori. Oh so smart and by the way, I cant stop drewling over you RDH. Amazing! I have a mare I am finishing up but she wont be as great as yours. I do plan to try some more breeding though. I may rebreed her or her mother to a Arab/Don. Or when Christmas rolls around, start from scratch if I can get my mom to buy me some passes.
winstin ~I'm switching back to that ava after Christmas btw default smiley xd you saved that from my old one; I know becuz of the small little "-Sc9" in the cornerdefault smiley xd
