Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Wifey, Friday's speed isn't bolded yet - that is probably part of what's hurting him. Get that bolded out, then hit those gallop and trot races again (but enter him in general comps, NOT Hunter-only). His dressage advantage should hand you the rest of your wins.

Wikipedia is doing so well!! Too bad he doesn't rank in anything.
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:02:44
Oh and we can't forget about Fusion!
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:22:08
Great horses kat!

Cryfenril- default smiley (lol) He does look familiar.
I'll try him in frie barrel races, but if he doesn't do too good, I probably won't enter him in them much because of changing tack.

Oh and I heard that if you use western tack in an english competition it doesn't effect the horse's performance at all. Is that true?
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:28:14
Ok, I entered him in a few Frie only barrel races, but I'm still waiting for the results!
kat, I have used some of your TR Elites in my crossing program (Soy Is NOT Meat! and Mjolnir's Aura, to name two of my favorites) and they are exceptional. I couldn't have asked for better genes! Your horses are amazing, high-quality critters, and I take my hat off to you.

Scorched Aerth just arrived; she's not bad at all for a Standie but I doubt I'll keep her - too many other projects. That flaxen coat was a nice surprise, too. :-)

Her momma, Scorch Marks Ahoy!, produces fantastic cross foals - that speed is just marvellous. I usually breed a "midway" horse of some sort or another, then find a killer purebred to tweak the skills to where I want them. kat and Anneil both have exceptional purebreds that come in quite handy.

Skyyie, the tack doesn't hurt them, per se, but they don't get much in the way of bonuses from it either. The exception is the Centaur Pack versus Atalante Pack - you get the bonus from both of them regardless of the comp type.

Ok, thanks.

I'm trying to produce a really, really high starred horse. What breed should I breed this mare to? I was thinking possibly a TB or Frie or something like that.
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:44:30
As for barrels, he placed 5th in two of them, and 2nd in another. I think I'll try some more barrels but also continue in trot and XC.
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:53:17
I'm not sure what she will be good in, but she looks great!
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:53:42
Any feedback about my mare?
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 00:54:40
Yor mare i would sat Tb
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 01:01:02
Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm going to try to find a nice TB then I'll see if the foal is any good. I don't have many aging points to use so it may be a few days.
By Retired breeder, 23rd June 2010 01:02:30
Cryfenril- Tamara bred them I didn't.lol I hope to "collect" a lot of them though for breeding.^^

~Tamara~ breeds many amazing crosses under her TR elites affix. The one I bought from her has 1100 skills at 17 years old and not one cloud used! I bought her for 10,000e as a filly and am soo happy with how she has done. She is a great addition to my line.
which filly is it Sunny?
I'd like to see her (:
