Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Grand Adventure is consistently winning all Endurance events default smiley :)

My Hackney/GV cross is doing well, too, since most of the competition is KWPNs and TBs, neither of which have good stamina.

Their low trot allows you to enter lower difficulty comps, and their high speed and dressage will almost guarantee a win every time. Blupping or not, it doesn't matter.

These two are my newest crosses that I'm happy with~ My little jumper,

Hinata Shouyou

and then a little fail while I was trying to get a perfect combination for Hinata, which had amazing IBS,

Razanur.

If anyone remembers my jumper project from about a month ago, these two actually aren't from that, but I think Hinata makes that project a bit redundant default smiley xd I'll see what happens with it.

*claws at coat and ray combos* Why do yours always have to be so perfect?!

But the skills are nice too. default smiley xd

As for me, I just finished lessons with Ave Atque Vale yesterday so I should be retiring her pretty soon. At the moment I'm working on finishing my other crosses – I have a habit of forgetting to finish lessons with them – so I have a couple unfinished projects scattered about. Finally I have a new project (*sheepish grin*) that will remain secret for now but I am very excited about.

And I think that's my cross update for now. default smiley (lol)

Heh, thank you! I'm very nitpicky about my coat and ray combos default smiley (lol)

I have so many other fails from that line:
H S V Blup
H S VII Blup
H S VIII Blup
H S IX Blup
H S X Blup

They'll be waiting for this month's coat release XD Hinata was number 6, Razanur number 3, their mothers numbers 1 and 4, and number 2 I gave to my girlfriend~ I like all of them, but they just weren't what I was looking for, IBS-wise or skillset-wise.

I have some very high GPed and Skilled Thoroughbreds at the moment. Does anyone have any tips on what to breed them with since I've never done this before default smiley :)

Check the directory at the bottom of this topic. Moon also has a suggestion list here though I'm not sure if TBs are included.

Keep in mind to that only Blup and GP matter for breeding, not skills. So take GP into consideration when picking another breed to cross with, not the parent's skillsdefault smiley (y)

I finally finished an Aussie Showjumper cross project I've been working on for a week and half. But lack of aging points and high GP public Aussie covers meant I had to buy one from the sales and blup that with the others that were part of the project, bah!

Then there was a big shake-up with the Aussie rankings when I was 3 horses in, and I wasn't sure where the final foal would fall. All in all I'm pretty pleased, especially since he was the first proper skiller I've ever done!

Cerulean Frost is #2 in the Aussie Elite
#1 in speed
#1 in dressage and
#5 for jump
Since I've tapped all my resources for the moment I'm off to relax and return to my neglected all breed projectdefault smiley :)

Oh my gosh- I just realized that Hinata is 8th today for Selles in Dressage. Like that might not seem like much, but considering the popularity of the breed I wasn't expecting anything.

Honestly, Selles are so competitive that if I were breeding them I would be super pleased with top 100 so to get 8th in dressage is just awesome!default smiley (y)

Just covered my Shetland mare to a Peruvian Paso. Does anyone want the foal? Otherwise it'll go to the auction.

Also, what do you think of the cross?

The purebred Tekes are nearly knocking her off Number One Teke Jumpingdefault smiley (d)

Can't be bothered to beach her either, guess I got to deal with itdefault smiley (lol)

Did you try giving her bonuses so she could have just a little extra skill?
By Retired breeder, 6th March 2016 22:18:07
I don't think bonuses are counted in skill rankings? I could be wrong though, I always just thought it was the number displayed on their page that was counted.

Bonuses do not count. They only add a skill bonus in competition, but do not actually increase skills.

Bonuses don't give skills. Lessons every aging with a WoY, cloud fully and age to 25. Make sure you don't get any health penalties while training/comping and rides. And getting the full game gain in during baby play. That is all you gain skills from.
