Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Well you can have that foal if you want. I used a bolt to change one of my stallions over and not really in the mood to use another one to do the foal. And I know I don't have the mats to blup the foal but you can have him if you want.

maybe you can find someone to blup him for you. I'm not sure I'm just trying to help out a bit.

I'll take the foal if you don't want it, Xellos. Thanks so much for breeding it.

Twilight- You know, I think I'll just use that mare. Would it be possible for you to reserve her to me so the foal can be bred with my affix? I'll reserve her back once the foal's out.
okay foal is there if you want it. Hope it helps you out some how.

Thank you, Xellos! It's so great I'll definitely use it for a cross.
Frankly if you can find a bolt and an MA some how it would make the cross you are looking for. I had hoped for a filly but didn't turn out that way. And I didn't really want to age that horse to much since I'm hoping to sell it later.

But figured it was easier for me to look for covers then you and since you didn't want TB, couldn't use a Fry and Vanners were the next on the list for highest GP I would go with them.

1455 I hope isn't going to be to low for you.

And think of it this way if you do get everything you need to blup and bolt that horse wouldn't the real kicker be that when you breed the two together you get a TB instead of a Fjord LOL.

Haha, don't scare me like that, Xellos! Oh my gosh, it would turn out so awful if the foal was TB. Two weeks of work would be ruined. Wow...I'm probably going to get nightmares now. default smiley (lol)
just remember to breed the horses at 2.6 years of age like what I do now for my 4 ways. It has saved me SOO much time doing it that way. if I get the breed I want then I finish blupping the parents. If I don't I just saved myself time aging points/ma/bm items from going a horse I won't be able to use.

Now that's a good idea. I don't know how I'd survive without test foals.

Twi- I PM'd you, by the way.

My new girl! Hopefully with her babies I can reach 1400 GP!

Wrong link, Jello. I'd love to see the foal, though!
Well I'm heading to bed. I'll see you all later.

Hello everyone!

I'm trying my first ventures into crossbreeding. I was wondering how people found a TB/Fry or TB/Paint to do overall?

My three most prolific horses are TB, Friesian and Paint. I was hoping a cross between any of the three would make a useful horse default smiley ;)
Katie, a TB/ paint would be a good galloper, as both horses have skills that are good for Gallop. I'm not sure about TB/ fry, I have to go look at their stats, one second.

Katie, a TB/ fry would make a good Dressage horse, I think. The TB brings up Gallop a lot, but also drags down the Fry's trot.

I should know this, but if I want the TB/Paint cross to come out as a Paint, does the sire need to be the paint or the dam? Gotta figure out who to bolt for this default smiley ;)
If you want the kid to be a paint, make the father the Paint horse. You probably dont need to bolt, if you can find a good covering in public.

Has anyone made a GV/Friesian cross specialized in Western comps? I want to see what comps they're good at.
yellow, if you read the last two pages, I think they were trying to get a cross with no TB, and had 1400 or something GP. They may do that cross.
