Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Cross Breeding Question!
As I'm looking through the rankings for dressage horses, I'm seeing that Lusitanos are the best *ranked* dressage horses, but have close to nothing in Stamina. I'm trying to find a good breed to cross with my Gypsy Vanner to create a Xbreed that excels in Dressage and Stamina. Here is my question:
Would it be more effective to cross my Gypsy with a horse that excels in Dressage, but falls short in Stamina? Or would it be more effective to cross him with a horse that is not QUITE as high in Dressage, and has more strength in Stamina?
So sorry for the wordy question, thanks for your help! PM me if you want, with some advice.
HB; Want me to do games?

Riverwood Breeders- I'd go for the first one. In my opinion that'll make the horse more well rounded and it'll give it a better chanced at being ranked for its breed. If you bred a Lusi to a GV (assuming the foal turns out Lusi) that foal's stamina would be relatively high compared to the other horses of its breed. May just get the foal in the top ten for stamina.

We Mess With You- Thanks for the advice! I'm actually trying to find a mare to breed with my Gypsy stud, so I can buy the foal. I want to train a 2000+skiller that can get into a decent EC, and in order to do that, the horse needs to excel in Dressage.
While I wait for HB, I'm going to go raid my fridge. default smiley :k

@Mess This is the Lusi/Fry with 545 in dressage, and this is the Fry/Lusi mare with 548 in dressage.

Thinking of doing a Mustang-dominant four-way cutting cross. Since the three top skills are stamina/speed/dressage. The three top skills are stamina/speed/dressage so I'm thinking a Mustang [speed/stamina]/Arab (or GV) [stamina/dressage]/QP [stamina/speed]/PSH [speed/dressage]. Already in tears over all the work I have to do, since all I have at my disposal is a 1350 GP Arab, default smiley xd
ok Twi, he is ready for you!
