Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Xellossnut, what's with always dissing other people's horses? Some people don't breed to get into the top of the rankings.

Looks like everyones crosses are doing well I like comming here and seeing the GPs...I bred a PSHxHolstie for the fun of it and though the she only has two stars in speed I have a feeling she'll BLUP easily enough. I finally got him BLUPed but his mate isn't getting any wins and I'm thinking I may have to go find one thats already at 100 BLUP. Just a side note I'm running these crossbreeds NIB. Seeing how long it takes me to get a 1 star while trying to strengthen the PSH breed.

She was calling Stallion on her rude comment to me. I don't even recognize you, so I don't think it's fair of you to come in here acting like you know everyone. Yeah, some of us might breed for rankings, but who are you to assume we look down on people who don't, and "diss" their horses.
any ways I was thinking I needed to upgrade some of my horses only to find out I just did the last one I needed to do. So now I'm stuck trying to think what I want to do next.

I'm going to finish this vanner then from that point I'm not sure what to do next.

Any ideas that might be fun?

Planning on doing a Vanner/Arab cross, too, but my best Arab filly is nowhere near as good as my Vanners right now, default smiley xd

Don't buy another horse, self, don't buy another horse....
My Gypsy Vanner has twelve wins! Never done a GV before, (or Arabs or Russian Don) so this is all new. default smiley (lol) I'm having fun with him though.

Fith isn't that the case lol. I have a dumping ground tab of non worked foals. I don't even know whats in there any more but any foals I don't want to sell right away but don't want to work I shove in there now.

poor things

Wow, there are so many good crosses here! I feel so outnumbered; all of these crosses are downright *wonderful*. But I keep telling myself that maybe there is a place for me in this; even though I don't breed for rankings (I lack the drive for that much competition, much less the passes! default smiley (lol)), it's still incredibly fun. New obsession: Irish Hunters. Totally. Bred a few neat crosses… Still wondering about crossing a Lusitano or a PSH with my IH mare…
By Retired breeder, 28th November 2011 00:55:35
Tried this foal -- DWS Dark Sins -- a Morgan x IH cross… Totally *love* the results, my word.

Then, tried this little filly -- Sweet Dreams DWS -- a Holst x IH cross. Great foal, really~.

Ahh, crossbreeding. Relatively new obsession, and I much enjoy it.
By Retired breeder, 28th November 2011 01:29:43
Ha ha I think I need to create a dumping ground tab for my foals, too. Well, I do have a tab that's kind of obsolete now, so I guess I'll shove them all in there.

Slowly working my non-Marwari foals with each update, including a few crossbreds. This PSH/Paint filly is my favorite by far. Can't wait to cross her with her PB Paint half-brother.

Very, very nice filly, The Fifth Estate -- I've thought about that cross myself. Very nice skill set, if I do say so myself~.

Totally ove the moon at the moment -- brand new obsession, Irish Hunters! My heavens, I am so happy with this foal! I tried crossing an IH with a TB -- very glad I did!

Dark Obsession, Thoroughbred x Irish Hunter.

Now to decide whether to use a prefix or a suffix… Bleh. New stuff in my forum… Polls and the like… Although I do want to ask other breeders here~…

I've done, so far, Morgan x IH, TB x IH, Holstiner x IH, and pure IH. But I have to wonder -- anyone done a PSH x IH, or a Lusitano x IH?
By Retired breeder, 28th November 2011 02:25:45
That is a *lovely* cross, Scarred Winter. That one'll make one heck of a barrel horse. I have a similar cross somewhere, a TB/IH/Arab, but his GP is redonkulously outdated.
By Retired breeder, 28th November 2011 02:28:21
I've done PSHxIH for my NIB line they blup easily in barrels if the PSH is dominant Winter
By Retired breeder, 28th November 2011 02:32:42
My oh my, this is going to be *fun*! Wonderful, this crossbreeding is; truly wonderful. And this forum is so helpful! Wonderful people, wonderful breeding… This sort of thing is what makes it exciting for me~.
I would say she is a trot comper, nice horse Scarred

Holy bawowzers I did not think the horse would get this many skills. As it is today its the highest skilled vanner in the game.

what it will be tomorrow who knows.

I'd skill her Patrick. You could probably sell for quite a bit when you're done.

Very nice Xello!
