Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

My stallion Billionaire is getting his wins now,he has a tatol of 16default smiley ^)
He's nice, itunes!

His stats remind me - I have looked in the public stud offerings and cannot find what I need. Does anyone here have a stud with at least the following GP bases?:

sta 75 gal 80
spd 114 trt 120
dre (any) jum 114

If you have a stud of any breed that has at least these skills (bare GP only!), please let me know - I am in dire need of a cover!

I used to breed hardcore horses but "whenever I go straight everyone keeps leaving me" Quote by my friend a summer or two ago before he moved to Nevada. In other words my breeding partners leave so then I leave and ever since I try to be solo but sales suck these days you will spend like 13+ passes on a horse and barely sell it for 4-5 passes unless you're a very popular player who mega ahead of the game.
My next BLUP project - Falguni!

Her papa is Lord of Nerves, my second-ranked Marwari Elite. With her Games boost, I am thinking she may top her daddy when she grows up...!

I am debating on wether I should put out coverings from ImaZipYaChick. He is the first all star QH to wear my affixdefault smiley :-))
If you want to capitalize on him, Lynn, I'd say go for it. If you want to keep his gene pool all to yourself, reserve him til you have improved his line somewhat and then release a few at a time.

Very nice colt Barabar. He could produce some great foals. Maybe even an all star baby?default smiley *-)
By Retired breeder, 15th June 2010 14:57:32
I would try him with a standie mare sometime. That would bring up the trot.

Wow, these crosses are amazing! default smiley :o

I have a little crossbreeding project called vegetable soup, I normally breed random crosses for fun, not caring about the outcome. default smiley (lol) But I've decided to try and get a good foal with one breeding, I'm going to use a Hera's pack on it. I have a 782 GP IH mare, I'm thinking of crossing her to an Arab stally, will the resulting foal be any good? Would any other breeds work well? Thanks for any help. default smiley :d

I'm hard at work on my Sweet Sixteens (even mixes of 16 breeds). I'm working on bringing the first (poorly bred) set up in GP and I'm proud that I've finally reached 419 with this little gal.

Ruby Tuesday

I hope my link works...

I'm sure it will be while before they are starred, but I'm patient. I'm still wondering about the Standies being the showing breed, though. It seems odd to me.

I'm also working on a second line for the Sweet Sixteens that will be better bred from trained parents, so I'm hoping for some good results from that!

I forgot to state that she was a "test" horse to see what breed would show in that generation, so she doesn't have any IBS. Some of the 418s actually do.

FINALLY
They introduced a pony to howrse that is good at trot! They haven't had one for a long time and now their finally is a purebred pony to help with crossing ponies, trotwise.

Hi!
I am a on/off crossbreeder. I'm currently focussing on my NIBs, but I have a Hanoverian-Canadian-RDH-(IH?) crossbred project that I plan to return to soon..eventually.

Thing is now they changed GP that each breed can't gain GP above certain proportions (i.e. can't breed a Hano with 90 GP trot, they get jammed back in apperently) I am not sure if it is worth it anymore.
(I was planning to breed Canadians with high Jump to get advantage in X-country)

I was wondering how is that GP change thing affecting people that are crossbreeding currently? Is it still working?
