Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Bridget it's awesome how many wins she has..but wouldn't you feel much more proud if she was fully skilled and still beating all the other horses that are actually ar her fully skilled up level instead of beating bluppers and low skilled horses. Us crossbreeders all know that crosses wipe the floor with purebreds without being loaded to the eyeballs with bm items and competing against low skilled bluppers.

I love her just the way she is thank you very much.
Okay, Does anybody want one? I don't need anymore colts.

She was bred to do exactly what she is doing - to be able to blanket low comps and win them. So no need for crit or advice please. 800 days of doing crosses....I'm comfortable in doing what I'm doing. We all have different opinions and ideas but unless someone asks for them I see no need to give them
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 13:40:43
I was neither attacking or giving advice..so no need to give me the I've been playing longer than you tripe. I just think it's such a shame that a great cross like her is wasted on comp stomping blup level comps when she could really shine wiping the floor with top horses easily....and win better equus in the process. It's a compliment, get off your soapbox.
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 13:43:50
You see the difference is, I managed to explain my position and my wishes without being rude. It doesn't take much to be polite.

The ref. to 800 days had nothing to do with you, it was me saying that after that amount of time I have found what works for me and I am comfortable with that.

By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 13:49:47
I was polite, you just took it the wrong way.

'get off your soapbox'

I don't think anyone can see that as politeness.

Also you misused the word stomping - stomping is specifically targeting individual players, what I'm doing is blanketing - entering every and any comp I can fit her into.

I had a discussion with a mod about it when a player PMed me and accused me of stomping the horse she was blupping with my mare, the mod ruled I was blanketing.

pinto - it's really nice to see him coming along so well, will be interested to see how he looks all finished up

Foxxy, it Came across Rude to me too. It May have been a complement , But it came across quite rude to me. As the owner of im-a's Only foal.
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 14:06:29
My filly is 3Y6M 500 skills and 1 comp win.
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 14:09:23
My original post was in no way rude. But you basically told me to shut up and pointed out that after 800 days of crossbreeding your comfortable with what you are doing. I took that as a personal attack on the amount of days I've been playing. I'm quite sick of longer term players having a 'shut up, you are not allowed to speak or have a opinion because I've played longer than you' attitude with me. That is the reason I said get off your soapbox. Nothing to do with your mare in anyway.
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 14:11:47
Make that 3Y8M, 3 wins and 505 skills.
Foxxxy- You are a great player and you should know that..... just let it go.
By Retired breeder, 24th May 2010 14:15:23
I'll decode it shall I....

1) Explaining what I am doing with her:

'She was bred to do exactly what she is doing - to be able to blanket low comps and win them.'

2) politely asking...

'So no need for crit or advice please.'

3) As I said above, this referred to *me* and how this has enabled me to develop how I run my own projects, and how I am comfortable running them:

'800 days of doing crosses....I'm comfortable in doing what I'm doing.'

4) General statement:

We all have different opinions and ideas but unless someone asks for them I see no need to give them

There is nothing rude in there at all, as I said, the days thing didn't even refer to you - at no point did I say it did, or even vaguely imply it. I think it is unfair for you to assume things against players.

If you did see something rude in that, which you obviously felt you did, then you could have addressed it with me in a second *polite* post - or via PM which would have been the better way to do it.

'get off your soapbox', however you look at it is not polite - whether it is aimed at me or my mare.

I am leaving this topic for now as this has made it most unpleasant, which is a shame.
Calm down, everyone.
