It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Yeah, besides the 20 wins and top three bolded your howrse has to be 10 years old.

I've bolded and had wins on more than a few before that point... you get a gain of about 0.33 BLUP every 2 months age just for them being older. That's why 0 GP breeders have to breed right at 2 years 6 months-- otherwise the BLUP continues to rise and that's not something they want.

Dreamin in Class is getting closer to the magical 20...he's now at 12 wins. I figured out that now that he's nearly maxed out on barrels, his stats are pretty good to go right into show jumping and kick butt, even though he's toting around a Centaur saddle, haha.

One of my fillies just gamed oer to 358...should be a bit higher by the time she's done, so that's very exciting!!

Sheza Class Act, my foundation mare, is now around 23 years old...she's in gestation right now and I'm hoping that I can get one more out of her. She's been in good health so I don't think it will be an issue.

Haven't had much time to do any work on the stud book--I plan to make little banners that all submitting breeders can link from their own pages, as well as perhaps custom banners for their horses for their own presentations as well. If anyone is interested in banners or avatars, please let me know and we can work something out...
Down to 10 wins left to go for my best Newfie stallion Quest for Tyme, can't wait for him to get to 100 BLUP so I can breed him. default smiley ;)

Just born, new 2nd generation (4 foundation based) in my Forever Black line. Quite happy with 361.79 before games... just shy of 363 after games. First foal in a while, now back to work getting some more!
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2010 00:56:22

Rymskynx -- oh goodie!!!! Caoimhe will be waiting....default smiley (lol)

Um...yes, I know about the 10 years thing...default smiley :p.....the thing was that despite being bolded etc. before age 10... ye olde blup-bar didn't fill to 100 until she was about 10 and 2 months...once the fourth skill was bolded...Not that it matters...she's done!

I find the less I obsess the better they seem to do....random neglect is apparently a great motivator...default smiley (lol)

SBKR -- I'd be happy to put one of your banners on my page....anything for the pro-NIB crowd...default smiley ;)

Selling a lot of my high GP 100% NIB Friesians. Prices are semi flexible.
Hey everybody default smiley (l)

Happy Ending now has 21 wins, thanks to all who filled default smiley :) Note for further sales--- I will sell when I am 3 generations ahead of my sales. So that means when I get to the 4th generation, I'll sell my foundie, Happy Ending. Then when I get to the 5th generation, I'll sell the second-generation foals. But after that, they will no longer be worth anything for NIB. default smiley :'(

PM me if you want to make offers on Happy Ending. She'll make about 400 skills.

358.05 GP!

My best GP from a foundie x foundie. default smiley :-)) Really pleased with her, both parents were 100 BLUP but they had different GPs. Her sire had 351.20, but her mum only had 350.34.

Well done on the foals guys!

I'm really confused, this mare has more than 20 wins, she's bolded her 3 best skills, and she's 19 years old. Anyone have any idea why she's not at 100 BLUP?

You haven't bolded gallop, which is one of her top 3 skills. default smiley :d

Oh really? I thought they were dressage, speed and jumping! Okay then, that explains it. Thanks!
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2010 11:45:01
lovely foal -foxy!!

I think it was Inner Chorus who told us that the GP result of two foundies is also influenced by the top GP in the game of that breed -- which is a very nice bone for the green monsters to be throwing us, I'd say....default smiley (lol)

Congrats on your BLUP freedomreins!!!
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2010 11:50:42
Wow, breaking 358 is fantastic, well done!

(I haven't been in here much recently and have barely touched my ponies... I know, I am a bad NIBer!)
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2010 13:20:20
*one thousand lashes with a wet noodle for Inner Chorus* default smiley (lol) I've been following your quest for a Sleipnir -- a most excellent adventure, I must say -- congratulations!! I'm sure your ponies understand....default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2010 13:47:24
I think they're jealous, heh.

I will start working on them again soon, though - I often go through phases of not touching them and then madly NIBing again.
I have a horrible habit of buying more than I use.... I guess that's one good thing about a personal NIB project. Foundation GPs don't exactly expire!

Hmph...it seems That Horse is back in the showjumping comps again...just as I have a couple ready to enter. default smiley (li) Guess I'll go into my Random Neglect Phase for a few days 'til it clears out....default smiley ;)
