It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Lots of good stuff going on here...miss a few days, miss a lot -- up to my eyes in my bleeping EC business -- fast-tracked a monster Irish yesterday -- remind me to NEVER do that again....I much prefer my pedestrian approach...even if it means not getting the uber maximum skills....default smiley ;)

If anyone is doing Brumbys there's a whole whack of untouched foundies in the PS for 1500e each -- almost makes me want to switch to Brumbys....default smiley ;)

Love the idea of the Stud book....I'm really considering downsizing my fleet default smiley ;) and looking at working with outside stallions instead. It's worked nicely so far - thank you Rymskynx - and as long as it's a long-time trustworthy breeder, I don't see a problem....and would be infinitely more efficient.

I miss my wee NIBs.....fraternizing with the green monsters makes my head ache after a while....

Keeping an eye on your boy - Rymskynx default smiley ;)....his lady-love has been gathering dust the last few days -- she's three away from her 20 but not showing any signs of budging....default smiley :o

Hi. I have a filly purebred spanish horse. Would she be considered a fondie or fondation? Or do you have to have to do something special to them? If so, what?
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 14:16:41
horse_moo - Hi, yes she is a foundie and a foundation (whichever). No, you don't have to do anything special to them in terms of treating them differently to any other horse.
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 14:18:32
horse_moo - you most definitely have a foundation foal!! default smiley :-)) My advice would be to find some foal games (Starting Right says she has some in her forum) and follow them TO THE LETTER....(not yelling, just emphasizing default smiley (lol)). That way, you'll get the most GP gain and will be off to a flying start with your NIB breeding program.....default smiley ;) congrats for thinking about it ahead of time...default smiley (y)

WOOOOOT!!!! Caoimhe just pulled off her 20th win.....*capers around room*....I'm off to fill in some blanks now and hopefully she'll be done by 10 years...my frugal and pedestrian methods notwithstanding....default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 16:13:31
Congrats on the 20 wins!!!

@horse_moo--congratulations on your foundation! Hope you stick with us in the NIB program!

Dreamin in Class picked up another win today bringing his total up to 11...getting closer!

I'll be updating the GP list today. I am sorry I missed it yesterday, spendtall Sunday night in the hospital so I am catching up today. My apologies to everybody who has been waiting default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 19:43:55
Aww Riven I hope you are feeling better. We are all human and can most definitely wait default smiley :) Afterall this is a game default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 21:51:13
horse_moo, would you be interested in selling that foal?default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 21:56:25
I tried reading the topic, but I can't understand, what is a foundation?
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 22:03:09
I'm so confused about this game. I think I'll sell Carrots to a good owner and quit. If I quit with Carrots on my account, what happens to her? Does she get given to a random person?
By Retired breeder, 16th February 2010 22:04:09
Why can't I see my messages? IS there something wrong with my computer?
No, if you quit without selling her or sending her to the Safe Haven, she disappears.

Hi, um I am trying to Blup my mare and I think I have everything done... Can someone check her for me before I breed her? Sorry if this doesnt belong here.default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2010 00:35:45
I've mostly been operating in the idea that I can't do anything about what happened before I get a horse but I won't knowingly inbreed once I have one. So they don't get bred to siblings, parents, etc.

I've been getting together a 'small' herd of Brumbies and they're all foundations so far so I'm intending not to inbreed them. Anything you can recommend? The majority are in the middle of their foal games at the moment.
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2010 00:44:51
Kaboom, you need to finish off her jumping training and get it fully bolded then she would be at 100 BLUP on her next aging.
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2010 00:46:31
Ok thanks so much!
By Retired breeder, 17th February 2010 00:49:36
