[Info] The Retired Coat Gallery

This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

Whoo hoo! gizmogizzard got the 1000th post!
Is there any way other than searching through the BM to tell the difference between a glitched retired coat and one that is actually retired?

No, there's currently no other way - it is a known issue but currently I have no news on when it will be sorted, so for now the best thing for players to do is make sure they check manually before buying or selling a horse as having a retired coat.
K, thanks Inner Chorus! Oh, and congrats on your Xanthos! default smiley :)

This coat was being discussed on page 40. I think it's very pretty and it's supposedly been retired, but I'd like to point that I think it's probably breaking some type of copyright rules. I have a puzzle that is the same exact picture when you put it together. No difference at all.
Don't mean to accuse anyone of anything, but that is the same picture.

My picture didn't work.

Here's the picture;

The howrse with a puzzle is copyright infringement and was immediately yanked after a legion of angry coat makers and players said it was not fair that that coat was allowed as it was stolen from a puzzle. I would say Howrse should have yanked it and destroyed the coat and sanctioned the player. I do not know who made it or what it was called. It came out in 2008

Simple rule of thumb is that anything over #500 is a true retired.

Familiarise yourself with the old coats so you knwo what is what.

This puzzle is shaped like a running horse with a scenic scene in the middle. Artist - John Van Straalen. 800 pieces. Size: 35" x 24.5".

I hope they do not pull the coat but please people remember that art theft is not right. It may be a pretty layout, manipulations, greeting card, coaster, t-shirt or DVD but if it is taken from the artist without permission then we are condoning theft. That is why I have one avatar and no pictures. I would love an Eeyore added to my forum or profile but that is theft from Disney.

I would love to have this coat for painty and me but someone painted that picture and a company got permission to make a puzzle out of it. NO, there is no way for me to know who made that coat.

You'll be suprised to see how many idiots submit stolen coats to the Black Pearl and get away with it. If you want a list, I can show you a whole bunch of stolen coats that haven't been yanked.default smiley (b) Coming from someone who actually spends time MAKING art, not stealing it, I think it's disgusting. And look at me! The Pearl rejected every single one of my coats. The most glory I can get out of them is by posting them in my forumdefault smiley xd

Just bought this one - snapped it up in the PS, and haven't yet checked under the GA fully to ensure it's definitely retired, but it doesn't look familiar to me:

I remember seeing that coat in paint queen's other horses tab, but I can't recall if it had R.C. in its name.

Well, I just finished checking under the Golden Apple for it, and it's not there, so it's definitely retired. I hadn't seen it in the sale before, so I'm pretty pleased I picked it up. default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 10th July 2009 14:00:39
