This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

Eh? I don't understand that last post...
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 15:11:35
Wow, I just did the math . . . since 6/6, I have spent 65,600e and 30 passes on horses that are retired when you click on them, but still showing up for sale on the BM.

Oddly enough, as I was looking for another horse, I found a horse that I call "Special K" that I bought back on 5/27. If you [url=http://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=3831145click on him[/url] in my profile you get the "retired" page, but he's still on the GA page as "Jump." As I said, I bought him on the 27th of May, and his price is not counted in the numbers I gave above.

LOL - sorry, reposted with the clickable link. Those pesky brackets are important!!
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 15:19:25
Maranatha, that link will only work for you as it goes to the horse through the My Horses page (and that's where it directs everyone else...to their own My Horses page) - the link to the horse itself is here.

I'm sure I've seen that in the sales advertised as retired - this whole thing is a nightmare for collectors AND reputable sellers. I am hoping Howrse will actually retire those coats.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 15:44:16
PalominosRCool- I had that coat too, but I sold it for 40,000eq so if you sell it, it will go for quite a bit.

Kinda like this one myself...it's 'retired.'
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 15:50:24
That one makes me laugh! Its legs... default smiley :d

default smiley (lol) my equus is a bit low since I bought that CraXoR coat, so I'm having to restrict myself to retired coats that I find really pretty/interesting until I can sell a few more horses. I'm going to focus on training up the horses with retired coats that I do have.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 15:52:25
Thanks Chorus, didn't know it.

Howrse certainly needs to do something quickly, but I'm wondering just how severe the problem is as the horse I posted about was purchased in May, and was not a part of the recent big "retirement." I agree that I would like to see the coats retired, but they there is the problem of upset coat designers . . . this is a tricky issue.

All I know is I have tons of equis and $45 "real" dollars (on passes spent) wrapped up in this, and I'm not happy about it. I don't care about skills, gp, etc. on retired coat horses, so I've got a bunch of low-skilled horses that are, for the most part, useless to do anything but look pretty. default smiley :@ I don't pay that much for "pretty" horses - regular GA coats I only buy if they are really cheap!

Another retired coat. Found it to be interesting. default smiley (lol)

I very much agree with you Marantha, I didn't buy with passes real money (which wouldn't make it as bad) but I used up my 'pass savings.'

Ooh, I like that one!

Thank you guy's for sending in a letter on the issue-----let me know if you ever hear anything!!! I don't know what to do---keep scooping them up or put by buying on hold, I am down almost 200k & numerous passes. Just like you said bill....are we hurting other's by selling them too?? I hope this is figured out soon. I did wonder why some of them were "retired" ....some of them are still fairly new!! I will be out most of the day---please keep me posted you guy's!
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 18:49:40
Ok another question~~has anyone actually tried to use one of these retired coat's that are still in the BM? I know they show them, but if you try to put it on a howrse.....will it let you?? Plus......I am really tired of getting the nasty e-mail's accusing me of trying to "cheat" people....by selling coat's that aren't really retired---so I am done selling any of them right now! I am really upset that I wasted my equis & passes buying them all. Hopefully you guy's are having better luck. I have been a collector for a while & I do know what a retired coat is~~plus, I would never intentionally "cheat" someone. I am cancelling my sale's & hopefully this will get resolved soon.

Hello billdadog,

If you are using the coats people post in the forum, then they may not be retired. You should check each coat before selling it as retired. Each of those items are loaded by players, not staff.

Sincerely
Howrse Team

...the reply I got, I don't think they understood me...I guess I'll send another message.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 21:16:44
Yeah, I'd say they really didn't "get" it from that response. I've had no reply from Jaguar, but I'm sure she gets a lot of mail and I don't even know if she's on.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 21:28:17
OK, in the interests of seeing what's going on, I just went in to my Hunters.

This coat is showing up as retired, but is still for sale in the BM. I used a pass and put it on the horse this link is hopefully directing you to. It put the coat on my horse, but if you click the horse, it shows that the coat is retired.

So, there's your answer gizmogizzard - the coats are usable, but then show up as retired. That's ridiculous!
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 21:40:34
I just sent this through "Contact Us."

The method of checking to see if a coat is required has always been to click on a horse with that coat. If it takes you to the GA page with that coat, allowing you to select it, it is not retired. If, however, there is no graphic on the page, the coat is retired.

However, MANY coats are now showing up that appear retired when you click on them, but are still available through the black market. In the past few days, I have spent 65,600equis and 30 passes (that's $44.97 of REAL money) collecting GA coats, some of which are:

PaintyPaint,
Blackwind,
Night & Day,
Firehourse,
Horse White,
Starry Night,
Jump,
Blue Flame,
Medium Chesnut,
Fuego,
la fuetna,
Fire King,
My Blue Dream,
Calymphe,
Painted Mustang,
Golden Trotter
Horse In Black.

All of these coats show up as retired when you click directly on the horse, but all were for sale in the black market. Additionally, I just purchased the coat Grulla Sabino and placed it on one of my horses via a Golden Apple. Immediatly after, I clicked on the coat, now on my horse, and it's showing up as retired.

This is an urgent issue. I have a bunch of low-skilled horses I bought only for their retired coats, that now don't seem to be. Many collectors are also being accused of cheating, as we try to sell our retired coats.

Please take immediate corrective action.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 21:48:48
Crossing fingers for a reply soon - I also tested putting a coat on one of my horses (My First Coat) and it worked fine yet shows as retired when you click on it.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 22:23:16
Does it bother anyone else that in the coat Inner Chorus refers to, the horse has 5 legs? It's a cute coat, but the extra leg always bothers me!
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 22:40:07
This really PO's me, I sent another message to contact us too. I have no idea what they will do..compensation would be a huge mess, but they have to do something..has anyone gotten replies yet?
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 22:42:39
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=2672377

This is the "retired coat" I just bought with one of my golden apples.
By Retired breeder, 13th June 2009 22:51:41
Hello,

Obviously whoever read my last post did not understand me.

Many coats 'retired' a few days ago...when you click on them it says 'select a coat blah blah blah.' I thought that meant they were retired, it was what Jaguar posted when she posted the retired coat gallery topic. But a few people tried to put the 'retired coats' on their howrses as it showed them in the available golden apple coat, and they worked and the horses had that 'retired coat.'

The real problem is many people spent many equus & passes buying these 'retired coats' only to find you can still get them with the Golden Apple. I've sold quite a few..one for 7 passes, that showed retired but isn't. I feel like I cheated several people which I have sold retired coats to, but infact they aren't retired at all!

Something needs to be done quickly...as this is really not fair for anyone involved.

thanks.

Hello billdadog,

Why do you assume they are retired?

Howrse Team
